Why the TikTok Ban Matters to Crypto Advocates
The US House of Representatives has voted to ban tiktok.
If you don't already know, being a crypto coach on tiktok is challenging. Cryptocurrency is illegal in China. And, promoting cryptocurrency on TicTok can get you banned. I've received a number of community guidelines violations for promoting Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. But while I don't agree with the community guidelines that buying Bitcoin is illegal or that buying cryptocurrency is a fraudulent activity, I do agree with tiktok's right to exist, free from government overreach. Tiktok may embrace the laws and the values of the People's Republic of China, nevertheless, as a private company they have the right to do so, to embrace whatever laws and values, rules and guidelines that they deem fit for the platform.
The first amendment is an important right in the United States. The first amendment gives me the ability to promote whatever beliefs and values that I may have. And the government cannot censor my speech. So if I believe that cryptocurrency is the future of finance, which in fact I do believe that blockchain is going to play a significant role in the future of finance, I have the right to promote this belief. However, that doesn't give me the absolute right to promote it on tiktok.

Gold or other precious metals got 9%.
Bonds 9%
Savings accounts got 17%

And, the number one long-term investment was Real estate at 29 percent.
The younger that you are, the more favorable you viewed crypto. 34 percent of Generation Z said that they were comfortable investing in crypto.

Massive inflation is a result of extremely low interest rates and excessive money printing.
And, the top 20 percent, who own 90 percent of all of the assets, are getting hurt by falling asset prices. But, the bottom 50%, who do not own any assets at all, are getting hurt the worst by inflation. Higher food and fuel prices are pushing up the cost of living, making it harder for the bottom 50%.
But, I would suggest to you, that as asset prices crash, now is a good time to acquire some assets.
In 1991, a friend told me to buy some Best Buy stock. It was under $0.50 per share. I could have scraped together $100, maybe $500. But, I felt too poor at the time to follow his advice.
I encourage you to break out of the poor-person mindset and acquire some assets.

On March 17, the Bored Ape Yacht club “air dropped” their ApeCoin to their NFT holders. The ApeCoin reached an all-time high of $17.17, but it is now trading at $13.23. ApeCoin is a governance token for Ape DAO. Owners of the Bored Ape NFTs have 90 days to claim their tokens.
Currently the average price of a cryptopunk is 78 ETHer, 71 ETHer for a bored ape (or $209,000). If you are the owner of a Bored ape, you were air dropped $150,000 worth of ApeCoin.

If I wanted to send 25 cents of crypto, which crypto would I send? and which blockchain would I use?
Have you ever wanted to tip someone for posting a good video? Or even for sharing a good tweet? I have, but I don't want to send much. 25 cents or even 10 cents would be enough to show my appreciation.
So how would I send $0.10? Solana and polygon have low fees, so they only cost $0.01 to send funds. But, believe it or not, Bitcoin can be sent over the Lightning Network at a fraction of the cost of Solana and polygon.
Moreover, on the lightning Network, there's already a tipping culture that's gaining in popularity. Nostr is a Twitter alternative. Stacker news is an alternative to Reddit. Both support tipping over the lightning network.
So if I were to send $0.25, I would send Bitcoin over the lightning Network. It's the best way to send micro payments.

Who will regulate them? The SEC is teaming up with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (or the CFTC) to jointly address regulations.
First, $100 b per day is being traded in crypto assets. Second, while there is lots of innovation in crypto, there is plenty of hype. Many projects are likely to fail. Third, he said that $14 b was stolen last year in crypto assets, and he wants to protect investors from theft.
So, regulation is coming to crypto exchanges in the US, both centralized and perhaps also decentralized.
