The Mark 45 (Mk 45) Naval Gun System | FIVE INCH FIREPOWER
The Mark 45 gun 5" (127 mm)/54 caliber (Mk 45) lightweight gun is a U.S. naval artillery gun mount consisting of a 5 in (127 mm) L54 Mark 19 gun on the Mark 45 mount.It was designed and built by United Defense, a company later acquired by BAE Systems Land & Armaments, which continued manufacture.
The latest 62-calibre-long version consists of a longer-barrel L62 Mark 36 gun fitted on the same Mark 45 mount. The gun is designed for use against surface warships, anti-aircraft and shore bombardment to support amphibious operations. The gun mount features an automatic loader with a capacity of 20 rounds. These can be fired under full automatic control, taking a little over a minute to exhaust those rounds at maximum fire rate. For sustained use, the gun mount would be occupied by a six-person crew (gun captain, panel operator, and four ammunition loaders) below deck to keep the gun continuously supplied with ammunition.
Variants:
Mod 0: used mechanical fuze setter. Two piece rifled construction, with replaceable liner.
Mod 1: electronic fuze setter replaces the mechanical one. Made with a unitary construction barrel, which has a life span approximately twice that of the Mark 42 gun.
Mod 2: export version of Mod 1, but now used in the US Navy (DDG 51-80 / CG’s)
Mod 3: same gun with a new control system; never put into production.
Mod 4: longer 62 caliber barrel for more complete propellant combustion, higher velocity, greater range at +20 nm (36 km) and thus more utility for land attack

The MK 45 gun was developed as a lighter weight, more easily maintained replacement for the MK 42 5”/54 caliber gun mount. It is designed to engage surface and air targets and to provide naval surface fire support for expeditionary operations. The MK 45 Mod 4 gun mount upgrade includes a longer barrel (62 caliber) that improves the gun’s effectiveness as a land attack weapon (naval surface fire support).
The gun mount includes a 20 round automatic loader drum. The gun's maximum firing rate is 16-20 rounds from the loader drum per minute. The rounds in the loader drum can be fired with one crewmember located at the EP-2 console below deck. Additional rounds can be accomplished by the full crew (Mount Captain, EP-2 Operator and four ammunition handlers), all of which are stationed below deck.

The Sikorsky S-70A or UH-60 Black Hawk has been the US Army's standard assault transport since 1979. It is the only rotary-wing aircraft to be operated by all five US armed forces and is also in widespread military service worldwide. Sikorsky built over 1 000 of the initial UH-60A model for the US Army before switching production from 1989 to the up-engined UH-60L variant; UH-60A/Ls equip both regular and reserve units.
The Black Hawk has provision for machine guns, Hellfire anti-tank guided missiles and Stinger air-to-air missiles. It can also carry pods with unguided rockets or mine dispensing pods.
The US Army fields several specialized versions. The MH-60L Crash Hawk and MH-60K Velcro Hawk serve today as the primary Special Operations Aviation (SOA) assault platforms. MH-60Ls have been modified into a direct action penetrator for service with the 160th SOAR as gunships.
The Army operates around 60 EH-60Cs outfitted with a command and control SIGINT (COMINT) jamming system known in the latest field version as the Quick Fix IIB. The Army fielded one of the latest upgraded variant, known as EH-60L with the Advanced Quick Fix (AQF) system.
The Army plans to upgrade around 350 UH-60A to UH-60Q Dustoff configuration for the medical evacuation role and around 600 UH-60As to a common UH-60L+ configuration to standardize equipment. The ultimate UH-60X standard is being studied; this will incorporate the dynamic systems developed for the S-92 with a new more powerful engine. The Oregon Army national guard operates UH-60L Firehawk as fire-fighting helicopters. The USAF has around 90 HH-60G Pave Hawks for combat rescue/SAR and seven MH-60Gs to support special operations forces. The US Marine Corps operates nine VH-60N White Hawks as presidential VIP transports.
Over 350 S-70As have been exported; significant operators are Australia, Colombia, Japan (aircraft for the JGSDF license-built by Mitsubishi) South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Turkey. Lesser users are Argentina, Brunei, Chile, Egypt, the Hong Kong Government Flying Service, Israel, Jordan, Mexico, Morocco, Philippines and Thailand.

I had the pleasure of attending a personal tour of the The Military Museums of Calgary, in Alberta which is the largest tri-service museum in Western Canada and the second largest military museum in the country. The Museum is now OPEN for visitors. This was one of many exhibits the museum had to offer. Alberta proud! 41 Brigade for the win! ;-)
The Calgary Highlanders is a Canadian Army Primary Reserve infantry regiment, headquartered at Mewata Armouries in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The regiment is a part-time reserve unit, under the command of 41 Canadian Brigade Group, itself part of 3rd Canadian Division, one of four region-based Canadian Army divisions. The regiment is one of only two regiments in the Canadian Forces (with The Canadian Scottish Regiment (Princess Mary's) to wear an honorary distinction on their uniform, commemorating the counterattack at Kitcheners' Wood. On 9 January 2015, the regiment was recognized with the Canadian Forces' Unit Commendation for outstanding contributions to the war in Afghanistan.
The Calgary Highlanders Regiment can trace their origins back to 1 April 1910, when they were organized as the 103rd Regiment (Calgary Rifles). The Unit was converted to a highland regiment in 1921, and from that day on, became known as the Calgary Highlanders.
Members of the regiment were of volunteer status, and continued on with their civilian occupations while training on evenings and weekends. The Calgary Highlanders were mobilized for the first time on 1 September 1939, when the Second World War was declared and they received a one word telegram simply saying "mobilize".
By 4 October 1939, the Calgary Highlanders had already recruited 20 men over their allotted number. After training for almost one full year, the Regiment sailed on 27 August 1940, from Halifax to Gourouck, Scotland, on the SS Pasteur. They arrived on September 4, only to begin what would be more than three years of training in Great Britain.
On 19 August 1942, 22 of the Calgary Highlanders landed on the shores of Dieppe for this unforgettable Raid. They were to be supported by the Calgary Tanks, but to their surprise, the Calgary Tanks did not arrive. Impressively, however, the Highlanders did not suffer any fatal casualties and all returned safely to England.
After landing at Normandy on D-Day, the Calgary Highlanders moved on to France and later returned to England in 1945. They departed for home on November 24 and paraded triumphantly through the streets of Calgary. The Calgary Highlanders were disbanded on 15 December 1945.

Hello everyone!
So as much as I love gaming and continuing my YouTube channel I also enjoy collecting surplus items and military collectibles. Recently I have come across a bulk load of what I believe to be Russian T-54/55 tank ammunition (IT IS NOT ACTIVATED/LIVE!).
I am very keen on making sure all my stuff is legitimate and like to know on its origin or history as much as possible. Sadly these tank rounds are in a language I don't know and with markings I have never seen before. I believe they are for the D-10 tank and already know that. This gun was obviously placed in the T-54/55 series.

This video is just going over the fact that it isn't just the combat arms that are working hard on and off the battlefields. The Armored Repair and Recovery teams are out there in the front lines and back home making sure tanks and armored fighting vehicles are moving and ready to fight when called for.
I am proud to have served my country as part of one of these teams and being able to see tank and other vehicles be sent on there way ready to take on whatever is thrown at them. I would like for us to remember that there is a lot behind making that Armored Fist make the punch.
Please take a moment a remember that some of the games and simulation software we play nowadays still sometimes represents a actual conflict or war. Some members of these repair groups risk their lives to make sure others can go on to protect others. Take a moment and think of them.
This video is dedicated to all those members of the Armored Repair and Recovery crews who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
We Will Remember Them
