The NuTone Model IS515 Selective Call Intercom remote stations are used with NuTone Models IM5006 and IM5000 Selective Call Intercom Systems. The IS515's share the same basic design as NuTone Models IS518 inside Remote Stations, IS519 outdoor Patio Stations, IC502 inside Remote Controls and the IC502LW outdoor Remote Control Due to the design of the IM5006 and IM5000 intercom Systems, the Remote Stations are often considered to be equal to the Master Station in their operation and complexity. Each Remote Station has it's own individual Power Supply and Amplifier (which is the reason for the "white noise" you hear at every station) along with the necessary circuits which allow the Selective Call features to connect to other stations and the system. The Remote Stations use a complex hybrid 2-sided circuit board design which uses both through hole components and tiny surface mounted components. Troubleshooting and working on these boards can be tricky and time consuming.
