This video starts at the "Koots" sculptures near Trail Blazer bridge along the Kaslo River Trail. It's the beginning of March and the winter still has a firm grip on the landscape. I got bundled up and spent the afternoon on the river trail and this video is the second of two I put together from that day.
LOCATION
Koots Sculptures, Kaslo River Trail, British Columbia, Canada

Bear and Fish Lakes along Highway 31A between New Denver and Kaslo are two of my favourite places to spend time. There's an abundance of wildlife, the fishing is great, and its just an overall ridiculously beautiful place.
It was a quiet and & relaxing morning when I went out to visit again recently with my new lens to see what I could film and photograph.
Enjoy!

After over 6 weeks of forest fires and thick smoke in the air with no visibility I have been feeling a little uninspired. I set out into nature to film this little video to try and rekindle my desire to create. Join me for a simple meditative walk along the John Fenger Memorial Trail through one of many old growth forests here in British Columbia.
This video was filmed on the Sony FX3 with the Sony 16-35mm F/2.8 GM Lens

Every year as the swans are passing through this area they like to take a short break for a few days at a small lake near where I live. This usually happens at the beginning of November. This year I counted 7 swans out on the lake. I got to film them for about an hour before the snow came in and it got too dark.

The water level at Duncan Lake is low enough for about two months of the year that you can hike along the moonscape looking shore. The geographical features which are usually hidden under water wont disappoint. If you're ever in the West Kootenays of BC in early spring I highly recommend visiting Duncan Lake.
