At Sootopolis City, enter the Cave of Origin and go down a few floors. The lowest floor of the cave has Groudon awaiting. Save your game before you approach. When you get in front, the Red Orb will take effect and Groudon will come close for a battle. Groudon is on Level 45. Its signature ability is Drought, causing a harsh sunlight to enter the battle that will last until a different weather effect replaces. Groudon will be tough as it uses Bulk Up to power up its Attack and Defense stats. Fire Blast will get stronger in the strong sunlight. If you still have some Ultra Balls, be sure to use them.

After getting an expansion card for the PokéGear, tune into the radio and you’ll hear the Poké Flute playing. Go east from Vermilion City and you’ll see a sleeping Snorlax blocking the entrance towards Diglett’s Cave. With the Poké Flute channel playing on the radio, you’ll be able to wake Snorlax up, but save the game first before you interact with it. Snorlax is on Level 50. Since Snorlax is so heavy, try using Heavy Balls to catch it.

Crack the tiles in one spot to make stairs appear. After one section you complete, the next one gets harder. Complete 3 sections of ice tiles without falling through and you’ll battle the gym leader. Wallace uses Water type Pokémon. Luvdisc will combo with Sweet Kiss to confuse targets the Attract to make the opposite gender less likely to move. Seaking will use Rain Dance and speed up with the Swift Swim ability. Whiscash will use Amnesia to raise its Special Defense stat then Earthquake for a big attack. If Milotic is running out of HP, it will use Recover. After the battle, you’ll receive the Rain Badge and a TM03 (Water Pulse). Water Pulse has a 20% chance of confusing the target.
