A very windy hunt up in the hills near or on the site of an abandoned medieval village which in the late 1600's was described as a 'large town'.
Would the land give up any history?........

Big thanks to everyone who watches and appreciates my video making efforts. It's been difficult lately getting time to edit footage as my online business has been going ape and while that may be great for the holiday home fund it's no good for channel development so thanks for your patience.
In the next few weeks I will be showing what I will be giving away in the 50,000 subscribers / 15,000,000 views give away videos. One will be for outdoor video viewers and will include metal detecting accessories, silver, bushcraft materials and lots other cool related stuff.
The other one will be for aquatic video viewers and will include aquarium accessories, pond related products and lots of other products related to aquariums and ponds.
As active subscribers you will of course be eligible to enter both give away videos for as many of the prizes as you want, however some of the larger prizes and heavier items may be limited to UK subscribers only due to shipping costs but don't worry - there will be plenty of items to win so you will not be spoilt for choice.
50k subs is a huge milestone for any channel and I couldn't have got anywhere near that without you watching, sharing and liking the videos so the give away videos are simply a 'THANK YOU' for any active subscribers.
If in doubt, dig it out.

(TIME STAMPS BELOW)
This is another magnum opus of a 'how to' video but you will find time stamps below for your convenience as well as useful links.
The entire building of this survival / bushcraft shelter took 5 - 6 hours and the camp fire with heat wall took another 1.5 so in total it was a decent time outlay but the result was worth it.
Obviously it would have been much quicker if I had opted to build a more simple shelter but I wanted to go with a raised bed, natural covering and natural bindings (Willow) since I wouldn't learn much if I made one using a tarp and paracord.

Eheim Classic 350 (Amazon): https://geni.us/7g0sSHj
Filter media, foams etc. http://www.filterpro.co.uk
The 'Classic' range of filters from Eheim have stood the test of time and are still available in a form which alters very little from the original Eheim Classic filters of decades ago.
In this video I used Biogravel in 300g mesh bags and it took 8 of them to fill the filter.
Total weight of media was 2.4 kg / 5.28 lb making the filter suitable for a normally stocked tank of around 240 litres / 63 US gal. for a full cycle.
If the tank was heavily stocked those figures could be halved.

Aquarium tips / filtration playlist: https://goo.gl/pXgqVj
A full cycle is completed by bacteria - the aerobic part of biological filtration which processes ammonia to nitrite and nitrite to nitrate followed by an anaerobic part which processes nitrate into soluble nitrogen which bubbles off to the atmosphere.
Therefore it requires a suitable amount of excellent quality filter media to be able to provide the environment for both aerobic AND anaerobic bacteria - that is what Biohome filter media does perfectly but even with such good media there are limitations and we recommend the following amounts for different stocking scenarios:
(1 US Gallon = 3.8 litres)
(1kg = 2.2 lbs)
Average community tropical aquarium = 1kg per 100 litres
Average coldwater aquarium = 1kg - 1.5kg per 100 litres
Predator aquarium = 1.5kg - 2kg per 100 litres
Large cichlid aquarium = 1.5kg - 2kg per 100 litres
Malawi / Tanganyikan aquarium = 1.5kg - 2kg per 100 litres
Marine aquarium = 1.5kg - 2kg per 100 litres
Average mixed fish pond = 1kg per 200 litres
Average koi pond = 1kg per 150 litres
You may be disagreeing with the above figures but remember that they are for a FULL CYCLE not half a job - achieving 0 ammonia and 0 nitrite is quite easy since aerobic bacteria grows freely on any surface but the anaerobic bacteria responsible for COMPLETING the cycle needs more a specialized habitat.
Remember to use a water conditioner which does not bind / detoxify ammonia, nitrite or nitrate as that type of conditioner will severely limit bacteria numbers by starving the bacteria of 'food'.
Size a filter properly, set it up sensibly and you will have perfect water - it's that simple....and your filter won't be the dreaded 'Nitrate factory'.....you'll spend less money on treatments too......basically the filter is the foundation of a successful aquarium.
This series of videos is all about trying to squeeze more efficiency out of internal and external aquarium filters which generally have a limited filtering capacity - If you have a filter you'd like me to feature in a video then please contact me on:

Anyone who sends a filter (UK only at present) will have it upgraded and returned to them for free and the only cost you will pay is how much it costs to ship it to me - I'm helping to boost your filter and the resulting videos will hopefully be useful to viewers all over the world so it's a win/win.
This channel is purely a hobby for me so I will never ask viewers to donate money for any of my projects or charge anyone for information - information should be shared freely and I certainly don't consider myself an 'expert' in anything I pursue as a hobby so please do your own research, never accept anything as 'fact', reject anyone claiming to be some sort of authority or 'expert' and make your own minds up about anything you wish to study.
We all are on a long path of learning.........

As you may know I was very disappointed in the build quality of the Eheim Pro4 600 as it was a step down from the Pro3 series quality and a huge step down from the Pro2 quality.
The Pro3 1200XL / 2080 is a really meaty filter which easily holds 6kg of media. Build quality is fine and the ability to draw from 2 places in the tank is a real bonus, especially for heavily stocked tanks.
The price is very high but given how brittle the internal parts are on the Pro4 series I would recommend this one from the Pro3 series no problem.
WHAT IS A FULL CYCLE?
*If someone tells you the aquarium nitrogen cycle ends with the production of nitrate that is incorrect - please read on*

PLEASE NOTE: amount of biogravel required for the biorb upgrades is dictated by the base area, not the volume of the tank as it is used as a substrate to cover foams. Therefore:
15 litre requires 1.5kg
30 litre requires 2kg
60 litre requires 3.5kg
105 requires 5kg
Above figures are based on the 'orb' shapes tanks - the 'life' and 'flow' rectangular tanks require 3.5kg and the foams would be cut to the full size of base.

How to set up a Biorb aquarium.....Making one of the most troublesome aquariums work properly?
That is the task being completed in this video and it also shows a unique, highly porous 'Biogravel'.
Feeding frozen and sinking foods is now possible with this upgrade as the food will not be lost under large sharp media (Biorb 'lava rock'). Great range of frozen food here: http://geni.us/LNA8 (select type - loads to choose from)
Full kits for 15 litre, 30 litre and 60 litre orbs and external filters can be found at this link: http://www.filterpro.co.uk
The Biogravel and foams are also available separately from http://www.filterpro.co.uk
The Biogravel is made of the same material as Biohome filter media (sintered glass). Full video on that media to follow.
