Tuesday in D.C. following my late night visit to the Roe v. Wade protests at the US Supreme Court last night and I found many of the same people still outside protesting, but this time with an added dose of media in attendance as well. We saw NBC's Andrea Mitchell and the Senator Hirono from Hawaii, along with countless others. I also managed to see the Vice President return to the White House for the first time since her bout with COVID, and saw Joe Biden make his way back from Andrews AFB. US Secret Service responded to a gunshot at the Vice President's house, just outside the main entrance gate to the residence at the US Naval Observatory. I was on the scene as soon as I heard the call, and the DC Fire Department arrived to assist Secret Service Crime Scene Investigation teams in determining what happened to the bullet. Secret Service later issued a statement: "At approximately 1:30 a.m. this morning, Secret Service Uniformed Division officers responded to reports of a single gunshot at 34th and Massachusetts Ave. NW. No one was reported to be injured and there is currently no indication that this incident was directed towards any protectees or the Naval Observatory. Roads around the intersection are temporarily closed due to the ongoing investigation."
