Sorry about the black frame around the video, I am not sure what happened. I am not super skilled with my video editor and I think one little section that I was cropping something out made the whole video like this.
The video is also embedded here, but with other content such as getting your garden started indoors. http://handfuloftranquility.com/blog/2014/03/22/garden-update-video-and-blog-post/
A quick video on raspberry pruning.
This raspberry garden started off as 13 plants about 4 or 5 years ago and is now over 100. Raspberries are great, they grow like weeds, multiply like rabbits, and come back year after year with minimal care! I highly recommend buying a few, maybe 5 or so, no more than 10 because they WILL multiply if they live.
This video I had a short time to make and it was my first try on new editing software (a trial of Sony Movie Studio Platinum). Yes, it is a bit rough around the edges and probably seems a bit like a rush job.

Next hot tent video will be in two weeks (March 26). Better audio, less fast forward, and I hit triple digits this trip (and may have melted my new-to-me a/v gear on its maiden voyage).
Ive been hot tent camping all winter, I finally decided to make a video.

For links to the exact cord/blower, etc I'm using here and some additional thoughts, check out the blog post at http://handfuloftranquility.com/blog/2013/12/14/greenworks-electric-snow-blower
In all, I do like this particular snow blower. It isn't the 26" wide 20" tall electric start, heated hand warmers beast my parents had that could work its way through nearly 2' of snow, but for somebody looking to save a bit of work and money I think it is a great compromise
In case you are wondering, I now use a nikon d7000 dSLR on a manfrotto tripod, all editing currently done on microsoft movie maker, though I am likely to upgrade to a sony or adobe product which will make some things better, some easier. My general go-to lens is an old film photography era sigma 28-70mm f/2.8.

The ideal size to use is 2.5-3.5" diameter straight grained wood about 4-5' long. Make your cuts about 1/3-1/2" deep and keep them ON THE BOTTOM when swinging. If they are on top the log will simply break.
This is useful when hot tent camping and you only have a saw but want some split wood to burn a bit hotter

Realtime and time lapse footage of splitting 12" rounds and knotted white oak this thing works well. I have split up to 12-14" rounds as long as they aren't TOO tough.

As always, please check out my blog at www.handfuloftranquility.com to get more details on todays subject and to view content that is not on youtube.
Today we are working on the vacuum that will no longer pick up pet hair or other things off the carpet it should be able to (and used to be able to). If you have long hair or live with somebody who does, this can often be the cause. The hair wraps around the bristles which prevents it from being effective. 5 minutes of work that you do 1 or 2 times a year can save a lot of headache and time.
