I noticed that Hooligan Labs had released parts to make functioning submersibles, this was too good an opportunity to miss so I swiftly add another exploration vehicle to my Eve flotilla.

I really wanted to show a bit more of Planet Explorers, so I'm continuing the story, learning how to use my arrow turrets to help me in my fight agains the scourge of the giant squirrels and meeting up with the other survivors.
Download the demo here, and back the kickstarter if you want to see more!

A small update to Kerbal Space Program is possibly the biggest update for players who use steam. Steam workshop support makes it incredibly easy to share and download craft files and missions for Making History.
Here's a new mission I posted - if you're a hardcore pilot and want to try flying a plane with no controls:

We built the rocket and launched it in the previous episode, now we perform a trans lunar injection and travel around the Mun.

Rockets are some of the loudest things that humans can experience, the Saturn V generated more power than entire US electric grid and converted about 1% of that into sound! There's a very distinctive crackle in the sound of a rocket which is a result of turbulence in the shear layer between the exhaust and the external atmosphere. I try to explain and visualize this using recordings of rocket launches and CFD simulations of jets.

The Expanse is a TV show based upon a series of books by James S. A. Corey. It's won a great deal of praise for its 'gritty realism', portraying life in the solar system 300 years from now. I got a lot of questions about how realistic the spacecraft were in the show, whether physics allowed for engines with the performance demonstrated by the spacecraft, so let's do the math.

Many of the numbers required to compute performance were taken from this short story.

Recorded live on Tuesday night, an extended play session. I head west in search of water, I expand my production facilities and our colonists mourn the passing of a colonist due to old age.

Flying by the seat of my pants, no external views, no map, no mods, just a calculator and some reference tables to help me figure out my trajectory. This is probably the hardest complete mission I've run in the game so far. This was one take, with a lot of extra time acceleration added to bring the duration down from 30 minutes to something more watchable.
