More Phantom 4 abuse... I tried to hover a few feet higher than the actual shells were exploding, since the prop wash probably wouldn't shield me from a direct hit as it exploded. It definitely kept all the flying sparks from touching the quad's shell or camera though. Surprising that the proximity to the explosions didn't effect the sensors at all... zero damage to Baro either.

I wish I was a mythbuster. It's why I shot at my brand new HD camera. Lots. I wasn't at home when I tried it, so it's okay.

NOS Cobra 2204 2300kv motors didn't enjoy our abusive relationship. Got they magnets blew out. I was out in the GR stix where all they had was a Walmart to make repairs after the VHB & zipties didn't hold the chunk of steak knife I had bracing the broken port bow arm. I acquired & chopped up a fiberglass arrow, wrapped it with car seat upholstery stitching thread and gorilla glued it so nothing could unravel. Somehow I didn't notice that the bolts holding that motor on were vibrating their way loose despite the loctite, likely due to the temporary fix having a bit of flex to it compared to the rest of the carbon frame, or the freshly loosened magnets.

Just an experiment to see what it basically might look like should I ever get around to doing anything interesting. Excuse my old-man grunting and wincing... tore something in my back moving heavy stuff, and i'm extra-pussified from winter atrophy.

Playing around with OBS on Bububuntu 16.04LTS / Older XPS13. Plenty of CPU for analog capture dongle and 2 webcams anyway. Wouldn't it be crazy if your FPV heroes actually did better than a half-charged TV watch and an overheating crapple iphone?
Flying the TinyCawk around the yard FSAG. Hopefully I can throw a Raspberry Pi rig together and take this concept around the city via HotSpot.

Micro Motor Warehouse CL-0615-14 coreless motor
https://micro-motor-warehouse.com/collections/all-motors/products/cl-0615-14
I still think these motors require more break-in time. These were more NOS parts I had from my busted Rakon-framed Inductrix. So far they don't feel all that different to the stock H8 motors. I have some -17's on the way to test. ($2.50/4 on clearance from airblade)
I was hoping for some improvement, but so far the only blatantly noticeable factor has been the Silverware firmware mod itself. The search continues for the ultimate ~25g freestyle FPV quad. The props are in view, so figure it out (though this vid is more for my reference);
1: "Gemfan 50mm" / "Blade Nano QX" prop; really wobbly. They lack punch, and response. I suspect they have more angular momentum, so it would need to be tuned differently. The last quarter of the throttle would cause dipping.

2: "Eachine E57" / "45mm HK Pocket-Quad" prop; less wobbly. They have better punch than the nanoQX, but they feel heavy like they brake less quickly than the stock H8 prop. They wash out more easily, and the top of the throttle range is unpredictable (likely tuning issue).

I had 24 packs charged up for an unnervingly warm xmas eve afternoon, and I got tired of the Toothprick after about 6x. I spent the rest (much faster) flying the ol' Emax "Tinyhawk S". It's likely the tune on it that makes it more fun and somehow appropriate for the size of the area I was flying it in, so I flew the nuts off of it until I couldn't see gaddammit! Which is because I smashed it's little face in, as documented at the end of the video. Oh well, it happens. She'll fly again, but she's long overdue for a new frame of some sort. I'm running out of props and I'd rather transplant it onto some kind of carbon with 1103's or something. We shall see.
Current config though:
FRA: Emax Tinyhawk S Indoor FPV Racing Drone Spare Part 75mm Polypropylene Frame Kit 1-2S
AIO: EMAX Tinyhawk S Indoor Drone Part - AIO Flight Controller/VTX/Receiver (VTX Removed)
MOT: EMAX 08025 15000KV (from the original stock 1S Tinyhawk)
PRO: EMAX Tinyhawk 4 Blade Turtle Mode Avan Propeller
CAM: Caddx Beetle CMOS 800TVL FOV 170 4:3 NTSC (Camera Only!, IR filter was also removed)
VTX: Caddx FireFly (VTX Only!) 5.8GHz 25mw
ANT: URUAV Micro UXII Stubby RHCP Mini FPV Antenna 1.6dBi 5.8GHz
BAT: Turnigy Nano-tech 300mah 2S 45~90C Lipo Pack
Added JST, 5V Beeper, Silicone Conformal Coating and black glint tape (hopefully I won't lose it with all these mods). I modded the Beetle lens for IR / night vision after removing it from the VTX. I used a VTX from a FireFly, cause it supports SmartAudio. I direct-soldered the "URUAV Micro UXII Stubby RHCP" to the FireFly VTX and secured it between the rear props on the bottom.

Robitz... another job I had for a bit. We built automated laser-radar metrology QA cells for auto / aero. It was interesting until I learned it all and didn't see any way to re-use it for non-affluent purposes. That and I'm not a fan of traveling to wage-slave colonies and being a part of the same nonsense I'm trying to make redundant / obsolete.
