Brexit "Independance Day": 5% Budget Cuts Announced... Bad for Archaeology? - WB Jan 2020
Welcome to Watching Brief. A monthly show available via podcast and as topical segments via YouTube. As the name implies, each month my co-host Andy Brockman of the Pipeline (Where history is tomorrow's news) and I cast an eye over news stories, topical media and entertainment and discuss and debate what we find.
Today I sit down and chat with Andy Brockman and Tracy Spaight about their recently published book ‘The Buried Spitfires of Burma A ‘Fake’ History’.
This is a story which began back in 2012 when the theories of Lincolnshire farmer David Cundall came to international attention, namely the notion that there were between 12 and 140 Spitfires buried in their crates under and airfield in Myanmar (former Burma).
Following an extraordinary archaeological investigation and subsequent publication, this book is a more ‘playful’ exploration of the story of the Buried Spitfires of Burma.

Welcome to Aspects of Archaeology! In this series we take a closer look at different aspects of the world of archaeology.
This is a Special Edition re-release of early episodes of Aspects of Archaeology, part of a year of celebration for 10 years of Archaeosoup Productions!
Where possible, audio quality has been improved and made louder & occasionally visuals have been improved. However I don't want to 'George Lucas' this series and fundamentally alter it... Enjoy.
