After finishing this, I went into one of the comments on the RWA Implosion calendar on Claire Ryan's website (https://www.claireryanauthor.com/blog/2019/12/27/the-implosion-of-the-rwa) and noticed all of the drama is basically taking place on Twitter and nowhere else. The comment "It is confirmed that the RWA Nationals has not been cancelled" from January 20th is yet another Twitter thread with no references, not an official report. So please check on that if you're interested.
But also interesting in this Twitter thread is the mob first laughing that no one is going to the conference... then complaining that there are many showing support FOR the RWA in spite of this by directly emailing them and then complaining "they're only seen as useless SJWs." One of the tactics for these kinds of people is to make your group seem bigger and in more control than it is. They are not the majority. By ignoring their demands, we let them know they are not in control.
