Andy's Travel Tips: Travel Check List of stuff you need to take
Here's a video in the Travel Tips series showing you what I take with me when I go abroad, more especially Thailand. The video goes into detail about the items I consider important such as mains adapters, bath non-slip mat, mossy spray, etc.
Hope you enjoy my tips and suggestions.

10th August 2017
DAY 4
The day didn't start well. We awoke to a power cut and no aircon so it was sweltering hot. Amd with no power, it meant no showers.
It finally sorted and allowed us to get ready to meet Kev in Thailand who was coming to the acqua condo to lead us to his house in the dark side.
We stopped for a 99 baht breakfast although the wifer's food was a lot more than that.
The kids went swimming for a while until deciding it was too hot (no shade over the central pool area in the complex), while I was attempting to sort out webcams that were incompatible and laptop cameras that wouldn't zoom.

Asian culture dictates the person removes their shoes when entering buildings, as a polite manner of behaviour. There may be more to it then the Buddhist cultural reasons, feet are "dirty", the lowest of the low.
In fact shoes harbour over 421,000 bacteria that is transferred to the floors, which in the UK is likely to be carpet, where they will fester and grow in the heated environment.
Some families do take off their shoes but it's sometimes not a rule. Maybe we should consider doing the same as our Asian neighbours?

Gastronomically Good Gaffs: Salathai in Bath with sister. We toured Bath city centre to find a reasonably priced Thai food cafe or restaurant. Eventually, due to price or lack of access, we ended up at Salathai (see reviews on this channel).

In this episode of Markets, Malls and Marts Travel Blog I visit the The Brunel, a shopping mall located in the centre of Swindon and occupying 60% of the town centre area. I have always liked this place with the usual (and unusual) range of retail outlets, it's clean and bright and very accessible. Later this year a new food hub will be opening that will certainly add value to it. One wonders how the rest of the town will be impacted but the Management seem genuinely honest and open about two way working with the retailers whether outside or inside the mall.
Opening in 1973 the uniqueness was three fold: 1) a unique black and white tiling to the then single storey 2) the delivery area located on the roof, which removes the need for lorries to enter the pedestrianised sections to unload. 3) shops have a unique outward/street facing frontage.
My visit was interrupted by security as I was told that I needed permission to film. Subsequently I had a meeting with Jane Stewart about this and future plans for video blogs.

This is my new series of vlogs. I am NOT an expert and I do NOT know everything, so what I say in these vlogs is based on my personal experience or research. I have been a visitor to Thailand for 2 years this month (October), I first went on a "last ditch, what the hell" trip following my failed back surgery. I could hardly walk and took my walking aid with me. I went to Udon Thani to go to an Agency for finding Thai ladies, who suggested that my disablement was not a factor in finding a nice lady for long term relationship. The agency allegedly vet the members and a lot of their clients come from America. The owner is an ex-Brit and his wife a Thai, had started the agency because of their experiences with relationships etc.
So, I have a Thai wife and have been going back and forth for two years. During 2015 my wife got a visitor visa and came to the UK for 6 months. Unfortunately the UK Immigration denied a second visa this year based on made up reasons.
THIS EPISODE: A viewer question, asking how I cope with the heat. You need to do as the Thai's do, and avoid the sun by using shade, fans, and not going out too long in it. If you do go out, wait until the later part of the day, OR first thing in the morning. And to combat tiredness, rest - the same way as the Western European/Mediterranean countries do, take a siesta!
IF YOU WANT TO ASK A QUESTION post it to this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSjfGNqsUXw
