In this acrylic painting tutorial for beginners let's talk about paint brushes, one of our most important tools! Paint brush cleaning can seem like a real hassle however when you put the time into taking proper care of your paint brushes you will find they last much longer. Common mistakes: 1) Forgetting to clean your brush. The paint will harden on the brush, harden the bristles and make it harder to paint with. 2) Dunking the brush in the water and leaving it there. The paint just sits on the brush and doesn't actually clean the paint brush. 3) Leaving clean brushes in the water. If this becomes a habit, the brush itself will start to curve especially on smaller pointed brushes. If you don't want all your bristles curving, take it out of the water after you clean it. Sometimes you can rescue your brushes too. Here I demonstrate the best way to rescue brushes that may feel a little more "crispy" than they should.
