Astrobotic's recent lunar mission had a few advertising partnets, Pocari Sweat and DHL were the most visible, and while many people expressed surprise at this, they were even more surprised to find out this kind of thing has been going on for over 30 years.
There's a huge variety of rocket fuels in use - RP-1, LOX, LH2, Methane, Hydrazine etc - Large quantities are needed, usually shipped to the launch sites in tanker trucks, but, how do the fuels actually get made?
The industrial processed involved use chemistry, physics and even biology to create the final product and they're the result of decades of research and experience.

A brain dump of potentially useful information regarding the market system in Eve Online and some ideas on how to make money using it. It's mostly just tables of numbers, but that's the nature of trading.

Boeing's CST-100 Starliner is ready to fly to space again for its second attempt at proving the spacecraft is safe enough to carry astronauts to the ISS.
The project has been delayed several years, although that's not completely Boeing's responsibility, but it looks like this may finally be the flight that shows the engineers have developed a working space taxi for low Earth orbit.

Rogue System is intended to be a hyper detailed spaceship combat simulator. Unlike Star Citizen the intention is that every control in the cockpit should do something meaningful. The spacecraft you are flying will be simulated in huge detail with the internal power, fuel and heat flows modelled as part of the sim.
This is an early preview build, there's no meaningful combat or missions, but the detail is evident in this startup sequence.

Mars Insight is landing today, hopefully in the same number of pieces the engineers designed!
Mars Insight is a lander rather than a rover because its two main experiments are supposed to stay in one place and will take months to collect the data on the Martian interior that planetologists have been unable to get from previous missions.

Kerbal scientists in charge of the Sentinel Project have found an asteroid on its way to Kerbin in 12,000 Kerbin days, unless something is done it will collide with the planet and surely lead to terrible consequences. So, the Kerbal Space Program starts working on a plan, the first thing that's needed is a mission to rendezvous with the object and analyze it in every way possible, getting exact orbital information and physical characteristics before making any decisions on how to actually deal with the problem.

I figured I'd share some of my thoughts on the new movie 'Interstellar' from director Christopher Nolan. I was lucky enough to see this in IMAX last night at and early screening organized by The Sentinel Mission (http://sentinelmission.org/) and Lockheed Martin

On Monday Morning Vandenberg Air Force Base launched 2 missile interceptors against a test target, to demonstrate mid-course intercept capability. That is, they were able to shoot a warhead out of the sky when it was still in its mid-course cruise.
