Olsa Tools just released their newest ratchet wrenches that require no physical switch to change between loosen and tighten. All that's required is that you put upward pressure on the barrel and turn slightly in the direction you're requiring it to be. The set is available in an 8pc SAE set or a 12pc Metric set.
The easiest suspension modification on a Subaru Outback. Installing a 2 inch spacer gave 3 more inches of clearance. Front spacers are made from a single solid billet aluminum piece. I initially tried to install a 3 inch spacer but could not get the shock back onto the car without severely throwing off the suspension geomtery. The kit is for 08-14 WRX and 09-17 Forester but it also fits the 05-09 Outback and Legacy.
Installation took about an hour. Next video will show the installation of the rear lift kit with

The 03 Forester is finally done. The head gaskets were spared and a block, compression, and coolant pressure test all passed. The customer has had her vehicle back a week and she reports today that everything is great and it's never run better.
Unfortunately she opted not to do the heater core, but was okay with it being bypassed. She'll explore getting it replaced in the future.

That's right. I bought another Forester for even cheaper than the 98 Outback. This one is a 98 Forester with bad head gaskets on a JDM EJ25D. It's going to need some title work to make it legal, but for the price, I couldn't pass it up. Due to the title work and the scope of the work that is needed to bring it back on the road, this is a high risk, high reward. The previous Forester I owned was purchased for $800 and after putting $500 into it, including a new head gasket, I sold it for $2,700 and it had 210,000 miles on it. This one will likely be sold to a close friend of mine who will be helping to rebuild the car.

In this episode, we teach you how to use a spill-proof funnel to bleed your vehicles cooling system. The spill proof funnel is a cool tool that everyone should own as it makes getting the bubbles out of a closed cooling system a breeze without burning yourself or taking your car out on lengthy drive cycles and waiting between top offs.
This video was recorded back in December of 2016 when I believed my engine was completely done. A few weeks later I discovered that the head gasket issue wasn't fixed and had to tear the engine down again to discover a warped block. I ultimately replaced it with another engine that I had hand built after the video was shot.

Before COVID hit I had the opportunity to purchase this car, but when COVID hit, things fell through. It belonged to a local enthusiast that loved the car but couldn't keep up with the maintenance and the repairs with such a rare car. Subaru doesn't make parts for the majority of this car anymore, so they needed something less of a unicorn.
The owner was under the perception from what some people said that it had a rod knock but the noise sounds more like a timing belt tensioner gone bad than a rod knock. It also has a pretty significant misfire, so it is very likely the timing also jumped.

Let's face it, for the occasional DIY mechanic, it doesnt make sense to have an expensive air compressor to run an impact gun. Not to mention, most people wont ever use an impact gun but once a year. This can be done without damaging your wheel bearings provided they're a sealed unit like on my wife's 07 Outback. For cars with bearing in a race, like older Subarus, do not remove the nut completely, but simply break it free and lift the vehicle on that side.
