This miniature replica guitar amplifier has several rock guitar demo tracks to play, but also can be used as a real amplifier, with input and output jacks and a small built-in speaker. And even if you don't play guitar, it makes a funny looking but suitable replacement for the mini battery powered amplifier that Radio Shack used to sell.

UPDATE: This bug can happen with all errors, not just relating to the floppy disk: http://www.amstereo.org/images/linuxminterrors.png
A dumb programming mistake allows duplicate error messages to accumulate until they consume so much of the system's resources that the operating system comes to a grinding halt. I demonstrate this in Linux Mint 17.3 using both the Cinnamon and MATE desktops.

Despite predictions of its demise in the near future, an AM radio station surprisingly has the most popular weekday morning show in New York City in January 2023 -- thanks almost entirely to people over the age of 50 listening to it.

With its low cost, light weight, and lightning-quick access to DOS, the DeskMate GUI, and a word processor with spelling checker in ROM, the Tandy 1100FD was the ultimate notebook computer of 1989 -- or so claimed Radio Shack. But is it worth owning today as a vintage PC?
I also discuss its successor, the Tandy 1110HD, and fraternal twin, the Panasonic Business Partner 150 (CF-150B).

This old Seagate hard drive makes some very unique sounds: when it spins up, it performs a seek test, and when you turn it off, it turns the spindle motor into a generator and uses the generated electricity to park the heads. This is the ST-277R-1, the 66-megabyte RLL version of a hard drive that was most commonly sold as the ST-251, a 43-megabyte MFM drive. As the Red Hill Guide explains it, "The ST-251 made a unique hollow knocking noise on start-up, once heard never forgotten, and by far the most distinctive sound of any drive yet made." A very common hard drive in late 286 and early 386 era PC clones.
