This is what you get just by flipping 50s wiring with modern wiring, even with the tonecontrol open in a Gibson Les Paul. ?
This is what I hear or feel: a hint more high end and openness in the 50s wiring. Modern wiring comes across as a little more smooth but the trade-off is loss of gain. Again, probably not noticeable on phone but it’s happening…? Loss of mojo!

By accident I've found a sound that I liked for this guitar which happened to be directly into a preamp, no F's given. It's fun how that creates an somewhat easy sound with no overwhelming low end. Yes, you can hear a bit of excessive high's here and there but somehow this DI sound works with the guitar and challenges your input control.
