The fourth world or stage in most games is a good time to introduce some unique and memorable mechanics. In Super Mario Bros. 3, it was a land where most enemies grew 3 times larger, in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, it was a place where you could gamble for rings in slot machines and played pinball. In Ristar, it's... delivering metronomes to birds and changing the fabrics of music within the level. Planet Sonata is a pretty strange place, but you'll likely not forget its strong atmosphere, nor its quirky gimmicks. The first stage alone is worth looking into, but it certainly has some annoyances here and there. Package stealers, fumbling fans, tooting trumpets and bombs that exploding when grabbed. And don't forget about the peckers! Once you get to the music hall, you'll learn that the game is back to trying to killing you by more convenient means: vicious enemies and meanly-placed spikes! Granted, it's not the hardest level, but the game isn't letting up on the difficulty increase that Planet Scorch started. So, what kind of concert is going on at the music hall? Damage done by weapons have been rebalanced as well (The Hadouken isn't a 1-shot anymore), both against regular enemies and bosses. Some weapons had their speed rebalanced. The body upgrade has been nerfed to 25% damage reduction. - Infinite lives. - Dialogue changes. - Death counter in the pause screen. - Each of the bosses can now be rebattled. - Each of the Maverick stages can be exited without having beaten it first. - Hadouken capsule only requires 1 visit.
