I was asked in a recent combat mobility class why I use the high ready. And the truth is, I alternate between the high ready and the low ready depending on the situation. Check out the video and learn why.
http://www.tridentfitness.net Rich Graham walks us through a simple step by step process of how we can easily camouflage our firearms, or any other object easily and affordably from home. Camouflage helps break up an object's silhouette, allowing it to blend better with its surrounding environment. For more tips follow Trident Fitness on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/tridentfitness

Wearing night vision makes for a tactical advantage in low light situation but it also introduces many new challenges with field of view, depth perception and balance. Here we had some fun challenging ourselves to the obstacle course and some drills while wearing our night vision goggles and IR flashlights.
This training took place at our FSW Deep Woods Ranch and was filmed with a SiOnyx Night Vision Pro (NVG Pro) video camera.

Although flipping the table looks cool when you need to draw from a seated position, you can also move the chair back by placing your feet appropriately as you stand.

In our Combat Mobility System we discuss scanning by turning your body in your search pattern. This is not just about being in a better position to fight from when locating the target, it is also laying the foundation for low light situation. In low light situations either with a flashlight or in this case night vision goggles you lose almost all peripheral vision. So it is imperative to turn your head and body not your eyes. If you don't train this your eyes will constantly look outside the cone of light into the dark before your head or body can catch up. Hope this helps give a little more perspective on the benefits our scanning techniques.

Continuing from our last weeks video on Concealed Carry Combatives we also have to take into consideration:
1-our point shooting from the hip (as many practice) might not hit the target when we are both moving
2-that one shot may not immediately stop the threat especially with a pistol caliber so anticipate that you will need multiple impacts and more time addressing the threat
3-the attacker will most likely not stop after one attempted strike and will chase and continue to attack
4-point shooting can be done with hands high you you can look done the slide of the pistol for better accuracy and a more defensive position
***safety note, these are dryfire or blue gun style drills. Don’t replicate them live fire.
