It's amazing how birds can communicate with each other and coordinate their actions! If you watch the entire video, you will see the beauty of how these two groups of birds join before landing on a wide field. I was fortunate to capture this spectacular sight showing two very large groups of migrating geese stopping by to eat some breakfast before continuing on their long journey.


Before landing, these birds had to reduce their momentum by changing the direction of their velocity and gaining air resistance before landing - similar to an airplane being held in a holding pattern above an airport. Their coordinated action of turning before landing creates a spectacular sight that slightly resembles a tornado.
