Interplanetary Command Ship - Aerobraking & More Probes - Kerbal Space Program
Now is the moment of truth where we slow our orbit using a combination of rockets and the planet's atmosphere to bring us into a stable orbit. After this we start deploying probes to the planets moons and surface so we can get more information about our possible landing targets. (more lander stuff coming soon!)
Part of a livestream on twitch.tv last night where I challenged myself to build an aircraft with 1 Heavy wing from B9 Aerospace, and with the restriction the I only use 1 of any item, so no symmetry was allowed. This was also performed with Ferram Aerospace's advanced aerodynamic modelling just to make the aerodynamics more realistic / unforgiving.

The latest free expansion bring an arena based combat simulation which lets players have fun in light, fast fighters instead of the more common heavier ships used in the main game.

If you've tried launching anything other than a simple capsule you've probably found out that the end result isn't anywhere near as aerodynamic looking as a real space vehicle. Fairings, or shrouds are designed to cover up those jagged edges and make a rocket more sleek looking, but up until now it's been hard to get fairings that work for what you need, many parts packs included them, but sometimes they weren't the right shape for your special snowflake spaceship.
Enter the procedural fairings mod which will automagically create a fairing for your rocket that matches the shape of your payload. Download it from Kerbal Spaceport

Another roundup of the space news and space launches in the last couple of weeks. Unfortunately I forgot to turn on the lights and hook up the microphone so the sound and video are not great.
Again, thanks to NASASpaceFlight.com for their work documenting Starship development and testing

There are some who say I can fly a rocket blindfolded. I fear they do so in jest, so I set out to come up with a plan to test this. Not quite blindfold, since I want to talk to the camera, but it's just a matter of keeping time in your head.

A bunch of smaller updates on various rocket launch news stories.
SpaceX, NASA, Rocketlab, Insterstellar Technologies etc.
Mark Handley is the person who's done a lot of the independent analysis on the Starlink cluster

Catching up with a lot of news. China launches a new Long March rocket, Blue Origin's New Shepard starts flying humans again. Boeing once again fail to do something with Starliner on time. SpaceX launch a lot of satellites and get ready for Starship flight number 4.
And, Rocket Factory Augsburg test a rocket stage in Scotland at Saxa Vord spaceport!

Kerbal Space Program just had its 1.7 update, reskinning and rebalacing a few parts, but more importantly adding some really helpful navigation tools. So, I wanted to use this to try setting up a series of gravity assists to visit all the planets in the Kerbin system.
