Taking a peaceful forest walk in Europe. Today's video walk turned out a little different than I originally intended. I planned on visiting another impressive castle ruins (in the video around the 05:30 mark). But when I got there I realized that it was not opened to the public yet so I decided on following the road leading into the forest. It turned out to be an unspectacular walk but it was quite nice nonetheless. Just your average peaceful Austrian forest with birds singing and the occasional deer or squirrel.

In this video I am taking a walk through a sunny beech forest in Austria. This place is close to the area where I grew up as a child and I enjoy coming here because of the serene atmosphere. In autumn you can find differents kinds of mushrooms like golden chantarelle, horn of plenty and also penny bun.
Not much happens in this video as I am just following a trail through the woods. But if you enjoy nature you might find this to be quite relaxing. At the end of the video I leave the forest and continue walking along a small road which allows a nice view of the surrounding area.

In this video, I enjoy some river walking on a hot summer afternoon. The river Schwechat in Lower Austria is a tributary to the Danube river. Before reaching the Danube it runs through a narrow valley with dense forest. Here it is a favorite spot for the locals to relax. The river is not very deep - ideal for children and cooling off in summer.
Because the water is quite shallow this part of the river is also perfectly suitable for exploration on foot. The scenery is simply beautiful with the sun breaking through the trees and the light being reflected by the moving water.

Walking along the Yangtze river in China. I like to travel to the Yangtze because this mighty river is a great place for adventure and offers a lot of opportunities to explore daily life in China. You can see people doing their morning sports, going for the swim in the Yangtze, or just walk along the riverside to get some fresh air. Sometimes you can even watch brave swimmers crossing the whole river back and forth!
This video was taken in Yichang city in Hubei province which is located between Wuhan and Chongqing. It is not a famous travel or tourism destination and mainly known as the starting or ending point for cruise tours on the Yangtze. I like it a lot, though, because here you can really experience daily life in China without having to deal with too many tourists.

Taking a morning walk along the mighty Yangzte river in the central Chinese city of Yichang. Located in Hubei Province, Yichang is home to a population of about 4 million people. It is best known for the famous Three Gorges Dam, which lies about 20 kilometers upstream of the city.
I start my walk in the central part of the city's long streched riverside park. With a total lenght of about 4 kilometers it's a favorite place for the local residents to play, relax or make sport. Even though it's still early the park and riverside are already quite busy. As I follow the promenande I come accross people dancing, singing, fishing, or walking their dogs. I enjoy this scenery a lot. It is calm and even though there isn't much happening it it is interesting to just watch people doing their thing.

Exploring a wonderful gorge in the Austrian Alps. There definitely are larger and more impressive gorges than the Johannesbachklamm in Lower Austria. But as you can see in my video, it nonetheless is a great place to visit. This about 1 kilometer long canyon cuts through a beautiful piece of nature.
On this day , was almost by myself when walking along the path and wooden bridges. And what's best: The exploring the gorge is for free! I had a great time.

Dobra Stronghold is an abandoned castle ruin in Austria, located at a beautiful lake. Built in the 12th century, its main purpose was to defend the area from invading enemies. The castle was abandoned in the 19th century and is now open for visitors.
I was able to explore most parts of this abandoned castle ruin, except for the keep for which you need a key that you can get at a nearby campground. It's safe to walk around due to the efforts of a dedicated group of locals who repair and maintain the castle's remains.

Watching a bunch of cute greylag goose goslings on their way to the water. The grelag goose is the most common wild goose in Europe and parts of Asia. It spends summer in the temperate regions but will stay in the south during the cold season.
During my visit to Lake Neusiedl I was lucky to see many of the recently hatched greylag goose goslings who were jealously guarded by the mature birds. If you try to approach them the parent geese will start to hiss. So in order to not disturb them I kept my distance.
They place was full with them. That's because Lake neusiedl offers a lot of food for them and the local reed belt is a perfect place for breeding and hiding. I hope you enjoy this recording of the adorable greylag goose goslings :-)
