03:02:31 Keep TFB AcenOkay this ISN'T the recent release on Kniteforce entitled "Ozomatli's Return (Parts 1&2)", but it does feature most if not all the tracks & remixes on that. House Crew are technically the best and brightest on influential Old Skool Hardcore/Jungle label Production House (Acen, Baby D, Brothers Grimm, D-M-S...etc). Ozomatli's Return features some great rare & classic mixes as well as the originals, and exclusives including a remix of an "Untitled" track by Cru-L-T, and some newer remixes, although there's a few gems they missed like Isotonik's remix of "Euphoria" There are some truly brilliant nu-skool breakbeat hardcore & drum & bass remixes of ""Super Hero", "We Are Hardcore" including a vocal spinoff of the new Magic Fantasy Dub, called "You're Like Magic" and "Keep The Fire Burning" (the one with the ethereal vocal sample from Baby D's "Daydreaming") by Blame, Sub-Focus, Pete Cannon, Liquid, Manix. Just as Reactivate did for Hard Euro Trance, React (the label that focused on hard quality music compilations and mixes) decided to extend an olive branch to the innovators and quality DJ's of the late 90s Hardcore scene (which admittedly gave birth to some dross But it was getting flack for simply existing by stuck up Mixmag reviewers, who made out it was music for tasteless teens" (oh really ? So not commercial pop but music that is still played at massive events and raves and is ignored by you supposedly neutral underground music pundits?...Fuck Mixmag).
They seemingly missed what reactivate didn't, not only was it still popular, but there was some real musical innovation going on by some labels and producers...Although Bonkers 1 & 2 were hit & mix, 3, 4 and 5 really started showcasing some great tunes, then added Dougal to The Hixxy and Sharkey mixes (and minus annoying MC's that for me ruined good tunes shouting over them incoherently...a tradition not suited to riff and sometimes vocal music).
so anyway, this is to give hardcore lovers their dues, otherwise I can't really say this is much of an archive (btw I even bought vols 3-5 then 10-15. So I'm not JUST being a selfless Samaritan! ?
