Alitretinoin is used to treat skin lesions associated with Kaposi's sarcoma. It helps stop the growth of Kaposi's sarcoma cells.
This medication is sometimes prescribed for other uses; ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information.
How to use Alitretinoin?
Alitretinoin comes in topical gel. Alitretinoin is usually used twice a day.
Your doctor may tell you to use alitretinoin more or less frequently depending on your response to it. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Use alitretinoin exactly as directed.
Do not use more or less of it or use it more often than prescribed by your doctor.
Alitretinoin controls Kaposi's sarcoma lesions but does not cure them. It will take at least 2 weeks of using alitretinoin before a benefit can be seen. For some patients, it may take 8 to 14 weeks to see results.
Do not stop using alitretinoin without talking to your doctor.
To apply alitretinoin, follow these steps:
Wash your hands and affected skin area thoroughly with mild soap (not medicated or abrasive soap or soap that dries the skin) and water.
Use clean fingertips, a gauze pad, or a cotton swab to apply the medication.
Apply enough gel to cover the lesion with a generous coating.
Apply the medication to the affected skin area only. Do not apply to unaffected areas; do not apply on or near mucus membranes.
Allow the gel to dry for 3 to 5 minutes before covering with clothing.
What special precautions should I follow?
Before using alitretinoin:
tell your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to alitretinoin, etretinate, isotretinoin, tazarotene, tretinoin, or any other drugs.
tell your doctor what other medications you are taking, including vitamins or herbal products. Do not use insect repellants that contain DEET while using alitretinoin.
tell your doctor if you have or have ever had a type of skin cancer known as T-cell lymphoma.
tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while using alitretinoin, call your doctor immediately.
You should not plan to become pregnant while using alitretinoin.
plan to avoid unnecessary or prolonged exposure to sunlight and to wear protective clothing, sunglasses, and sunscreen.
Alitretinoin may make your skin sensitive to sunlight.
What should I do if I forget a dose?
Apply the missed dose as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time to apply the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular application schedule.
What side effects can this medication cause?
Alitretinoin may cause side effects. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:
warmth or slight stinging of the skin.
lightening or darkening of the skin.
red, scaling skin.
rash.
swelling, blistering, or crusting of the skin.
pain at site of application.
itching.
What should I know about storage and disposal of this medication?
Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom).
Unneeded medications should be disposed of in special ways to ensure that pets, children, and other people cannot consume them. However, you should not flush this medication down the toilet. Instead, the best way to dispose of your medication is through a medicine take-back program. Talk to your pharmacist or contact your local garbage, recycling department to learn about take-back programs in your community.
It is important to keep all medication out of sight and reach of children as many containers (such as weekly pill minders and those for eye drops, creams, patches, and inhalers) are not child-resistant and young children can open them easily. To protect young children from poisoning, always lock safety caps and immediately place the medication in a safe location – one that is up and away and out of their sight and reach.

Buprex es un medicamento con principio activo clorhidrato de Buprenorfina.
La buprenorfina es un analgésico del tipo agonista-antagonista de receptores de opiáceos.
Buprex se utiliza en el tratamiento de los dolores moderados o intensos de cualquier etiología.
CONTRAINDICACIONES Y PRECAUCIONES con Buprex.
La buprex puede producir depresión respiratoria, por ello deberá administrarse con precaución en pacientes con insuficiencia respiratoria.
En pacientes bajo tratamientos prolongados con analgésicos narcóticos, o en adictos, sus propiedades antagonistas pueden precipitar un síndrome de abstinencia moderada, deberá por tanto administrarse con prudencia en tales casos.
Buprex puede causar una discreta somnolencia que podría potenciarse por otros fármacos de acción central. Por ello se advertirá a los pacientes que tengan precaución al conducir o manejar maquinaria peligrosa.
Puesto que la buprenorfina es metabolizada en el hígado, la intensidad y la duración de su efecto pueden resultar alteradas en pacientes con deficiencias hepáticas.
Deberá usarse con precaución en: ancianos, antecedentes de insuficiencia cardíaca congestiva, lesiones intracraneanas estados convulsivos.
INTERACCIONES con Buprex.
No debe ser administrado junto con inhibidores de la mono-amino oxidasa y fenotiazinas. Asimismo deberá evitarse el consumo de alcohol y el empleo de otros analgésicos, sedantes o hipnóticos, por existir el riesgo de potencialización de la acción depresora central.
ADVERTENCIAS con Buprex.
Se informa a los deportistas que este medicamento contiene un componente que puede establecer un resultado analítico de control de dopaje como positivo.
POSOLOGÍA de Buprex.
Adultos: se administrará inicialmente un comprimido cada 8 horas, que podrá aumentarse, según la intensidad de dolor, a 1 o 2 comprimidos cada 6 o 8 horas.
Los comprimidos se dejarán disolver debajo de la lengua.
No deben ser masticados ni tragados.
Uso en embarazadas y niños: la seguridad en el embarazo no ha sido establecida y por tanto no puede recomendarse su uso en tales estados.
Por el momento, no se recomienda la administración en niños.
SOBREDOSIS de Buprex.
La buprenorfina (Buprex) tiene un amplio margen terapéutico y las experiencias clínicas han demostrado que es posible administrar dosis muy superiores a las recomendadas sin que se produzcan efectos indeseables.
Si apareciera depresión respiratoria deberán adoptarse las medidas necesarias para mantener la ventilación y oxigenación adecuadas. Se tendrá en cuenta que la naloxona antagoniza sólo parcialmente los efectos de la buprenorfina.
Puede ser útil el empleo de doxapram, estimulante respiratorio inespecífico, administrado por vía intravenosa a dosis repetidas o por perfusión.
REACCIONES ADVERSAS de Buprex.
Puede aparecer somnolencia, fácilmente reversible, especialmente en el postoperatorio.
Ocasionalmente se ha observado una ligera euforia.
Puede producirse depresión respiratoria, náuseas, vómitos, vértigos y sudoración en algunos pacientes ambulatorios.
En ocasiones se han detectado ligeras variaciones de presión arterial y pulso, o dificultad de iniciación de la micción.
Existe la posibilidad de que aparezca un cuadro de abstinencia al suspender un tratamiento prolongado.

What is eliquis used for?
Eliquis is a medicine used to prevent venous thromboembolism (blood clots in the veins) in adults following a hip or knee replacement operation. It is also used in adults to treat deep vein thrombosis (blood clot in a deep vein, usually in the leg) and pulmonary embolism (clot in a blood vessel supplying the lungs), and to prevent their reoccurrence.
Additionally, Eliquis is used to prevent stroke (caused by blood clots in the brain) and blood clots in other organs in adults with atrial fibrillation (irregular rapid contractions of the upper chambers of the heart). It is used in patients who have one or more risk factors, such as having had a previous stroke, having high blood pressure, diabetes, heart failure or being 75 years old or over.
Eliquis contains the active substance apixaban.
How is Eliquis used?
Eliquis can only be obtained with a prescription. It is available as tablets (2.5 mg, 5 mg).
For patients who have had a hip or knee replacement, treatment with Eliquis should be started 12 to 24 hours after the operation. The recommended dose is one 2.5 mg tablet taken by mouth twice a day, usually for over one month (32 to 38 days) after a hip replacement or for 10 to 14 days after a knee replacement. For patients with atrial fibrillation at risk of stroke or blood clots, the recommended dose is 5 mg taken twice a day.
For the treatment of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, the recommended dose is 10 mg twice a day for the first week, followed by 5 mg twice a day for at least 3 months. To prevent deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism from reoccurring, the recommended dose is 2.5 mg twice a day.

How does Eliquis work?
Patients undergoing hip or knee replacement surgery, who have had a recent trauma, or are confined to bed are at a high risk of blood clots forming in the veins, which can be dangerous and even fatal if they move to another part of the body such as the lungs. Similarly, patients with atrial fibrillation are at high risk of clots forming in the heart, which can reach the brain where they can cause a stroke.
The active substance in Eliquis, apixaban, is a ‘factor Xa inhibitor’. This means that it blocks factor Xa, an enzyme that is involved in the production of thrombin. Thrombin is central to the process of blood clotting. By blocking factor Xa, it reduces the levels of thrombin in the blood, which reduces the risk of blood clots forming in the arteries and veins.
What are side effects associated with Eliquis?
The most frequent side effects with Eliquis (seen in between 1 and 10 patients in 100) are anaemia (low red blood cell counts), haemorrhage (bleeding), haematoma (a collection of blood under the skin), contusion (bruising), nausea (feeling sick), low blood pressure (hypotension), epistaxis (nose bleeds), haematuria (blood in urine), low blood platelet counts (thrombocytopenia), blood tests showing alanine aminotransferase and gamma-glutamyltransferase increase and skin rash. Some of these side effects are not seen with all the uses of Eliquis.
Eliquis must not be used in patients who are actively bleeding, or who have liver disease which leads to problems with blood clotting and an increased risk of bleeding. The medicine must also not be used in patients with conditions putting them at risk of major bleeding, such as an ulcer in the gut, or in patients being treated with other anticoagulant medicines except in specific circumstances (see summary of product characteristics).

La buspirona se usa para tratar los trastornos de ansiedad o en el tratamiento a corto plazo de los síntomas de ansiedad. La buspirona pertenece a una clase de medicamentos llamados ansiolíticos. Funciona al cambiar las cantidades de ciertas sustancias naturales en el cerebro.

¿Cómo tomar buspirona?
La presentación de la buspirona es en tabletas para tomar por vía oral. Por lo general, se toma dos veces al día y debe tomarse de forma consistente, ya sea siempre con alimentos o siempre sin alimentos cada vez. Siga atentamente las instrucciones que se encuentran en la etiqueta de su receta médica y pida a su médico o farmacéutico que le explique cualquier parte que no comprenda. Tome la buspirona exactamente como se le indique. No tome una cantidad mayor o menor del medicamento, ni lo tome con más frecuencia de lo que indica la receta de su médico.
Es posible que su médico le indique que inicie con una dosis baja de buspirona y que incremente gradualmente su dosis, no más frecuente de una vez cada 2 o 3 días. Pueden pasar varias semanas antes de que llegue a una dosis que le funcione.
¿Cuándo tomar buspirona?
Antes de tomar la buspirona:
informe a su médico o farmacéutico si es alérgico a la buspirona, a cualquier otro medicamento o a alguno de los ingredientes que contienen las tabletas de buspirona. Pida a su farmacéutico una lista de los ingredientes.
Informe a su médico si está tomando algún inhibidor de monoaminooxidasa (MAO) como isocarboxazida (Marplan), linezolid (Zyvox), azul de metileno, fenelzina (Nardil), selegilina (Eldepryl, Emsam, Zelapar) y tranilcipromina (Parnate) o si dejó de tomar algún inhibidor de monoaminooxidasa en los últimos 14 días. Su médico probablemente le dirá que no tome buspirona. Si deja de tomar buspirona, debe esperar al menos 14 días antes de empezar a tomar un inhibidor de MAO.
Informe a su médico y a su farmacéutico qué medicamentos con y sin receta médica, vitaminas, suplementos nutricionales y productos a base de hierbas está tomando o tiene planificado tomar.
Informe a su médico si tiene o alguna vez ha tenido alguna enfermedad renal o hepática o un historial de abuso de alcohol o drogas.
Informe a su médico si está embarazada, planea quedar embarazada o está amamantando. Si queda embarazada mientras toma buspirona, llame a su médico.
Si se someterá a una cirugía, incluyendo una cirugía dental, informe al médico o dentista que está tomando buspirona.
Debe saber que este medicamento le puede ocasionar somnolencia. No conduzca ningún vehículo ni opere maquinaria hasta que sepa cómo le afecta este medicamento.
Recuerde que el alcohol puede aumentar la somnolencia ocasionada por este medicamento. No ingiera alcohol mientras toma buspirona.
¿Qué dieta especial debo seguir mientras tomo buspirona?
Evite beber grandes cantidades de jugo de toronja mientras esté tomando buspirona.
¿Qué tengo que hacer si me olvido de tomar una dosis?
Tome la dosis que omitió tan pronto como lo recuerde. Sin embargo, si ya casi es hora de la próxima dosis, omita la dosis que no tomó y continúe con su programa regular de dosificación. No duplique la dosis para compensar la dosis omitida.
¿Cuáles son los efectos secundarios de buspirona?
La buspirona puede ocasionar efectos secundarios. Informe a su médico si alguno de estos síntomas es intenso o no desaparece:

WHAT ARE WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS FOR ACETAMINOPHEN PAMABROM PYRILAMINE?
Warnings:
This medication contains acetaminophen pamabrom pyrilamine. Do not take Midol Maximum Strength PMS, Pamprin Multi-Symptom Maximum Strength, and Premsyn PMS if you are allergic to acetaminophen pamabrom pyrilamine or any ingredients contained in this drug.
Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center immediately.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity.
Hepatitis or severe hepatic, renal impairment.
Administration within 14 days of monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).
Cautions:
Risk of hepatotoxicity; higher in alcoholics, or with use of more than one acetaminophen-containing product.
Acetaminophen: Risk for rare, but serious skin reactions that can be fatal; these reactions include Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS), toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN), and acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP); symptoms may include skin redness, blisters and rash.
Caution in G6PD deficiency.
May cause CNS depression and impair ability to operate heavy machinery.
Use caution in cardiovascular disease, diabetes mellitus, increased intraocular pressure or glaucoma, thyroid dysfunction, and prostatic hyperplasia.
Patients should drink 6-8 glasses of water daily while taking the medication.
Pregnancy and Lactation
Use acetaminophen pamabrom pyrilamine with caution during pregnancy if benefits outweigh risks. Animal studies show risk and human studies are not available or neither animal nor human studies were done.
Acetaminophen pamabrom pyrilamine is excreted in breast milk.
Pregnant or breastfeeding patients should seek advice of a health professional before using over-the-counter (OTC) drugs.
