The simulation theory podcast eclipses the need to prove simulation theory and instead explores the connection between simulation theory and personal development. Framing reality as if in a simulation manifests massive potential not available to someone stuck in a religious, scarcity orientated, or negative framing of reality. Today’s show serves as an introduction to re-framing reality, and as an opportunity to remix Pascal’s Wager into a simulation wager.
The audio will be WAY better next episode, didn't sync the audio from the microphone right, so it's just the phone audio. Sorry!

Tangents, personal stories, and meta-podcasting (the podcaster becoming conscious of the act of podcasting) are all a welcome detour from dry audiobooks.
I guarantee all of the podcasters covered will make you laugh, cry, and stay up late at night listening. I've spent many tired days at work after listening until 3am haha :)

David Foster Wallace had a troubled relationship with television. He was a self-titled "television addict" who watched TV for up to 12 hours a day for months at a time during his darkest years. However, from that addiction, Wallace (like most addicts) discovered a deep clarity about our relationship with digital technology. Now, being a tech addict isn't rare nowadays. Most of my students on the weekend spend 8+ hours on TikTok or Reels alone. However, most of my students and most people are not as intelligent and perceptive as Wallace. So, in today's presentation, we'll be reading a long quote by Wallace on why television sucks because of its perpetual need to be liked. I will then adapt Wallace's populations to a 2024 digital environment where a society hooked on television looks like a utopia!
