Final Fantasy XI #244, Chocobo Retirement; Yhoator Jungle: To Monk Level 50

Previously, Heorot trained as Monk in Yuhtunga Jungle and Yhoator Jungle and reached Level 42. Now, he will finish getting this job up to Level 50.
Heorot resumes in his Mog House in Bastok. He changes his main job to Level 99 Red Mage. Then, he heads out.
Bastok Mines (time 1:38):
At the Chocobo Stables, Heorot talks to Zopago. He gets the Day 129 status report for his chocobo, Amber Beauty. Unfortunately, this will be his last day taking care of her. On Day 129, one's chocobo is automatically retired, if one have not manually retired it. A cute little cutscene plays. Fortunately, Heorot will still be able to call Amber Beauty as a mount whenever he wants.
Heorot receives a VCS Registration Card and a Yellow VCS Plaque. The card can be used to register one's chocobo as a mount again in the future, if need be. The plaque is housing furniture.
Heorot returns to the residential area.
Mog House (time 4:55):
He puts his VCS Registration Card and Yellow VCS Plaque into storage. He sets up the plaque to display in his house.
Then, Heorot pulls out a few Black Magic scrolls from storage: Aeroga II, Stonega II, and Stun. He changes his main job to Level 52 Black Mage and heads outside.
Bastok Mines (time 7:03):
Heorot uses his scrolls to learn the Black Magic spells Aeroga II, Stonega II, and Stun. Then, he reenters the residential area.
Mog House (time 7:47):
Heorot changes his main job to Level 42 Monk. After withdrawing a few items he can sell, he goes back out.
Bastok Mines (time 8:28):
Heorot visits Neigepance at the Chocobo Stables to sell a few things. Then, he uses the Survival Guide at I-9 to teleport to Yhoator Jungle, Elshimo Uplands.
Yhoator Jungle (time 9:58):
Heorot arrives at the Outpost at I-8. He uses the Field Manual to undertake the Page 1 individual training to defeat 3 White Lizards and 6 members of the Goblin family per training regime. He heads west to take on these creatures.
When he has reached Level 47 as Monk, Heorot returns to the Outpost at I-8. He uses the Field Manual to undertake the Page 5 individual training to defeat 10 Tonberries per training regime. He takes them on close to the Outpost.
In time, Heorot reaches Level 50 as Monk.
When he has finished, he uses the Survival Guide at I-8 to return to Bastok Mines.
Bastok Mines (time 48:11):
Heorot visits Neigepance at the Chocobo Stables to sell his loot. After equipping some more up-to-date gear, he heads to the residential area.

Previously, Heorot continued the Wings of the Goddess storyline. He carried out Wings of the Goddess Mission 33: "Into the Beast's Maw", Mission 34: "The Hunter Ensnared", and Mission 35: "Flight of the Lion". The Allied forces suffered a devastating rout in Xarcabard. Now, Heorot will continue the story, starting with Mission 36: "Fall of the Hawk". This will take him back to Castle Zvahl [S].
Heorot resumes in his Mog House in present-day Bastok. He exits to Bastok Mines.
Bastok Mines (time 1:33):
Heorot uses the Survival Guide at I-9 to teleport to Castle Zvahl Baileys [S], Valdeaunia Front.
Castle Zvahl Baileys [S] (time 2:20):
As Heorot zones into the Castle Zvahl Baileys [S], a series of cutscenes takes place for Wings of the Goddess Mission 36: "Fall of the Hawk".
Wings of the Goddess Mission 37: "Darkness Descends" begins. Heorot must go to the Throne Room in Castle Zvahl Keep [S].
He gains control at the Survival Guide at J-8 on the first map. The path through this map is more straightforward than it was in the present. Here, Heorot simply follows the upper path to F-8. He opens the Iron Bar Gate to proceed.
Heorot reaches I-8 on the second map. This part of the castle is just like it was in the past. At I-7, Heorot drops down a pit to I-7 on the third map. He follows the hall northwest.
At H-6 on the third map, Heorot turns south and goes upstairs to the second map. Then, after I remember which way to go, Heorot goes south on the lower level at H-7 to the wall. He turns west briefly. Then, at G-7, he takes the corridor to the south. When he can, he hangs a left and then turns right up a stairway to the higher level. At G-8, he goes west through the Iron Bar Gate.
At F-8, he exits to the Castle Zvahl Keep [S].
Castle Zvahl Keep [S] (time 16:10):
Heorot arrives at I-8 on the first map. There are several gates that he must drop Invisible to open. He takes a route similar to the route he took in the present.
At H-8, Heorot takes the northerly route through the floor. The Gargouilles in this area aggro both to sight and sound. At least they are easy prey at Level 99.
At H-6, Heorot goes up the ramps to the second map. The monsters in the north of the second map are primarily Quadav, so Heorot can get through safely with Sneak. However, there are more demons and flying eyeballs in the corridor beyond.
At G-8, Heorot takes the corridor leading west and up. At F-8, he transfers to I-8 on the third map.

Previously, the party began the Agurani Village substory and carried out Quests 094 - 096. During the scenes, they met Sage Broggen again, as well as the ambitious Runana. In the process, they also explored more of the Mogarim Highway and Gatara Region areas. Now, they will carry out the rest of the Agurani Village substory.
Agurani Village (time 0:28):
The party resumes in the church in Agurani Village.
In the inn at C-2/C-3 on the upper level of town, the party enters the guest room for a scene with Sage Broggen. The unfortunate man is missing something, and Runana is responsible. Broggen issues Quest 097: "Take the Sage's Hand", the fourth Agurani Village substory quest. The next destination is in the Rani Cavern north of town in the Raniakka Fault Zone.
The party exits north at E-1 to the Raniakka Fault Zone.
Raniakka Fault Zone (time 6:21):
The party gains control at G-7 in the southeast. They make their way north and go through the first tunnel they reach. Then, they turn west.
At F-5, the party enters the Rani Cavern (ラニ大洞穴).
Rani Cavern (time 7:17):
The party starts at H-6/H-7 in the southeast of the cave. They explore the area on their way to the Demon Beast's Lair at the end.
At F-4, a black chest contains Mini Medal #128, counting the 20 Heorot has exchanged so far.
At B-3/B-4, a black chest contains a Gold Nugget (ゴールドストーン).
After setting up for a boss battle, the party enters the Demon Beast's Lair (魔獣のナワ張り) at A-4/A-5. A cutscene with Broggen takes place. They meet another Byblos.
After the scene, it is boss time against the Demonic Beast Byblos (魔獣ビュブロス). Byblos can only act once per round, fortunately. Its critical attack deals a ton of damage. It can damage the entire party with Lightning and Demon Beast's Flash. It can also absorb HP from a single party member with Soul Absorption. Fortunately, it does not seem to use Disruptive Wave, so the party can buff to their hearts' content.
At the end of the battle, the Demonic Beast Byblos provides a base of 20,000 experience points.
After the battle, a scene with Broggen, Broggen's Staff, Runana, and her cronies takes place. The next objective is to report to Broggen in the inn in Agurani.
The party Evacs out of the cave.
Raniakka Fault Zone (time 27:12):
The party Zooms to Agurani Village.
Agurani Village (time 27:27):
The party enters the inn at C-2/C-3 on the upper level of town. They get some rest.
The party enters the inn's guest room for a scene with Sage Broggen. Broggen speaks more about Leon Byblo and the Byblos. He also speaks of Horta, Runana's late father. Quest 097 complete! The party earns 2 Gold Nuggets (ゴールドストーン).
The party enters the inn's guest room for another scene with Sage Broggen. Brogen issues Quest 098: "Father and Child", the fifth Agurani Village substory quest. The next destination is Zag Cave in the southeast of Zagban Hills, which is west of the Raniakka Fault Zone.
The party leaves the inn and Zooms to the Axe Altar in the Raniakka Fault Zone.
Raniakka Fault Zone (time 32:49):
The party arrives at the Axe Altar at D-4. They go to the west of the zone. At A-5, they exit to Zagban Hills (ザグバン丘陵).
Zagban Hills (time 34:21):
The party starts at G-2 in the northeast of the zone. Note that even though this area is next to the Raniakka Fault Zone, it is by no means a starting area. The party explores the eastern side of the area on their way to Zag Cave in the southeast. They will explore the western side later.
On the ledge at F-3, a black chest contains Mini Medal #129.
In a dead end at G-6, a black chest contains a chunk of Densinium (ヘビーメタル).
The party enters the cave at F-7. At H-8 in the cave, they open a black chest for a phial of Magic Water (まほうのせいすい).
During their preparations for the upcoming boss battle, Fura and Raguas set up with one-handed Wands. They will be using the Snap, Crackle, Poof ability to immunize the party against paralysis.
The party enters Zag Cave (ザアグの洞門) at H-8.

Previously, Heorot began Chains of Promathia Mission 5-3: "Three Paths". He began Tenzen's path, Sub-mission 5-3T: "The Pursuit of Paradise". He carried out Sub-mission 5-3T-1: "Spiral" in La Theine Plateau and Pso'Xja, then Sub-mission 5-3T-2: "Branded" in Jeuno. Now, for Sub-mission 5-3T-3: "Pride and Honor", he must go to Lower Delkfutt's Tower.
Upper Jeuno:
Heorot resumes upon entering Upper Jeuno from Batallia Downs. He teleports to Ru'Lude Gardens.
Ru'Lude Gardens (time 0:14):
Heorot teleports to Lower Delkfutt's Tower, Qufim.
Lower Delkfutt's Tower (time 0:56):
Along the northern corridor of the first floor, Heorot finds a Cermet Door at H-5. Examining the door spawns the Disaster Idol, a notorious monster. Guess I should have buffed before examining the door, but everything turned out all right!
When Heorot examines the Cermet Door at H-5 again, a long scene takes place with Tenzen and Nag'molada. Sub-mission 5-3T-3: "Pride and Honor" complete!
After the scene, Sub-mission 5-3T-4: "And the Compass Guides" begins. Heorot's next stop is the southern tower of Pso'Xja in Beaucedine Glacier to find Fenrir's Avatar Gate.
He uses the Survival Guide at H-10 to teleport to Beaucedine Glacier, Fauregandi.
Beaucedine Glacier (time 22:43):
In the southern tower at H-10, Heorot examines the Iron Grate to enter Pso'Xja.
Pso'Xja (time 26:27):
When Heorot zones into Pso'Xja, a scene with Tenzen takes place.
Heorot starts at J-7 on the twelfth map. Some fairly high-level enemies reside here, so using Sneak and Invisible is a good idea.
This floor looks airly complicated, but it is not too hard. Heorot works his way around the outer part of the floor counter-clockwise until he reaches the southeastern room of I-8. Then, he goes west one room.
In the southwestern room of I-8, he takes the hole in the floor down a level. From there, he can reach the central elevator at H-8.
The elevator leads down to an unmapped floor. When Heorot examines the Avatar Gate, another long cutscene takes place with Tenzen and Fenrir. Most intriguing! Afterwards, Heorot must return to Cid.
Heorot gets a bit of a Goblin train while trying to leave the area. Fortunately, they are easy prey.
Past the elevator and to the left, there is a teleporter leading to the surface.
Beaucedine Glacier (time 48:47):
Heorot rides south to Batallia Downs, Norvallen, at H-12.
Batallia Downs (time 50:13):
He uses the Survival Guide at H-5 to teleport to Bastok Mines.

Previously, Link explored the Sky Keep and acquired the Triforce. Its power destroyed Demise in the present. Unfortunately, Ghirahim abducted Zelda and took her to the past to revive his master. Link must now go to the past and face the game's final battles.
Sealed Temple:
Link resumes in the Sealed Temple. He uses the Gate of Time to travel to the past.
Temple of Hylia (time 2:00):
Upon arrival, Link chats with Impa. Ghirahim fled through the southern doors.
Before pursuing Ghirahim, Link saves at the Bird Statue. Then, he goes out the front door.
Hylia's Realm (time 3:10):
A scene takes place when Link emerges in Hylia's Realm. To delay Link, Ghirahim fences off the edge of the path into the pit and sends a horde of monsters after him.
After gaining control, Link must get past hordes of enemies as he descends the path into the pit. Because of Ghirahim's fences, he cannot drop or dive down. At first, he will face a seemingly endless horde of Red Bokoblins. They are very easy; they die in one hit, and they rarely block. When Link reaches the first roadblock, Ghirahim summons five Red Bokoblin Leaders. They each take three hits to defeat, and they can block.
In the second stretch, Red Bokoblins with Bombs will appear. It is fairly safe to hit them with Skyward Strikes from afar, but do not hit them with the sword until they have gotten rid of their explosive cargo. Normal Red Bokoblins, along with Leaders, will continue to appear. At the second roadblock, Ghirahim summons three Wooden Shield Moblins.
In the third stretch, there will be Red Bokoblin Archers positioned in the distance. They are best dealt with at a distance with Link's bow, but due to the endless stream of enemies, don't stand around while aiming. At the third roadblock, Ghirahim summons a Blue Bokoblin. This Blue Bokoblin is a bit hardier than the normal Blue Bokoblin.
In the fourth stretch, a couple of the Red Bokoblins will have Monster Horns to summon reinforcements. Link must defeat the Bokoblin with the horn and grab the horn to stop the monsters from reappearing. To make it challenging, the Bokoblin with the horn will run around evasively. At the fourth roadblock, Ghirahim summons a couple of Stalfos.
In the fifth stretch, the first Bokoblin group will include another Blue Bokoblin. There will also be a couple of Moblins. Several Red Bokoblin Archers are posted near the end.

Previously, the party began hunting Slagworms in the Maranda Desert to gain levels for Kefka's Tower. They are also working towards the achievement for reaching Level 50 with all characters. They will now continue doing so.
World of Ruin - Overworld:
The party gains control outside Maranda. The current lineup is Celes, Locke, Sabin, and Strago. Celes equips Zona Seeker.
The party continues grinding in the Maranda Desert.
Celes reaches Level 51. Locke reaches Level 45. Celes equips Raiden. Sabin equips Zona Seeker.
Sabin reaches Level 46.
Celes reaches Level 52 and learns the spell Hastega. She equips Quetzalli.
Strago reaches Level 47.
Locke reaches Level 46.
Sabin reaches Level 47. Celes equips Zona Seeker.
Celes reaches Level 53. She reequips Quetzalli. Sabin equips Zona Seeker.
Celes learns the spell Slowga from Quetzalli. She has now mastered all Quetzalli's spells. Celes equips Raiden.

Belowdecks, the party forms a lineup of Terra, Edgar, Setzer, and Gau. Terra equips the Aegis Shield, a Ribbon, and the Growth Egg. Edgar equips the Paladin's Shield, a Ribbon, and an Alarm Earring. Setzer equips a Thunder Shield, a Ribbon, and a Gale Hairpin. Gau equips a Thunder Shield; he already has a Peace Ring and an Amulet. Terra equips Raiden. Edgar equips Bismarck. Setzer equips Zona Seeker. Gau equips Valigarmanda.
On the deck, the party takes the controls.
Overworld (time 48:25):
The party lands near Maranda. They continue hunting in the Maranda Desert.
Terra reaches Level 38.
Setzer reaches Level 29. Gau reaches Level 27. Setzer equips Alexander.
Terra reaches Level 39. Edgar reaches Level 35.

Previously, the party carried out the Monarch faction quest "Canid's Cradle" and brokered peace between MSI and the Iconoclasts. Aboard the Unreliable, he talked to Parvati and began the companion quest "Don't Bite The Sun". He also talked to Felix and began the companion quest "Friendship's Due". At Phineas' Lab, he talked to Phineas and completed the main quest "Radio Free Monarch". The next main quest, "The City and the Stars", has begun. Now, Davilas will work on companion quests.
Unreliable:
Davilas resumes aboard the good ol' Unreliable.
Time to pick up perks. Davilas picks up Ellie's perk Magic Bullets. This causes the bullets from Ellie's ability to ricochet to a second, nearby enemy. Davilas picks up Felix's perk Antagonistic Fury. This causes Felix to deal 20% more damage to an enemy whose Negative Reputation with the party is higher than their Positive Reputation. Davilas also picks up Vicar Max's perk Planned Intervention. This causes Max to taunt enemies within 20 meters when Davilas has dropped between 25% health, as long as Max is conscious. Finally, Davilas picks up SAM's perk Bedazzle Automechanicals. With this SAM's ability will stun automechanicals.
Davilas chats with his companions in the ship's living area.
When he is ready to go, he uses the navigation terminal to fly the ship to the Groundbreaker Docking Bays.
During the trip, a scene takes place. A Parcel Runner meets the ship and drops off a special delivery. This starts the "Peril on Gorgon" DLC main quest "The Ones Who Walk Away From Gorgon". The first objective is to open the package, which is in the Unreliable's cargo hold. This becomes available after completing "Radio Free Monarch". Davilas will work on the "Peril on Gorgon" quests later.
Davilas fast-travels to the Groundbreaker Promenade. He goes with Parvati and Felix.

The party goes to the Rest-n-Go and talks to Gladys for Parvati's companion quest "Don't Bite The Sun". They ask about cleansing products. There are three options. The party goes with the Mock-apples and Synthamon scent. The party receives the "Mock-apple & Synthamon" Beauty Basket quest item. This concludes the option to shop for cleansing products for "Don't Bite The Sun". The next objective is to speak to Parvati.

Previously, Heorot obtained his Chocobo Whistle. He also carried out San d'Oria Mission 9-1: "Breaking Barriers". Now, he will wrap up San d'Oria's mission line with Mission 9-2. There are lots of long scenes in this mission.
Northern San d'Oria:
Heorot resumes in Northern San d'Oria. He donates crystals to Achantere, T.K., at C-8 for rank points.
Then, he talks to Grilau at D-8. He takes on San d'Oria Mission 9-2: "The Heir to the Light". Heorot has been asked to guard the Rites of Succession ceremony at the Cathedral.
Until the Rites of Succession take place, Heorot cannot enter Chateau d'Oraguille.
To start the Rites of Succession, you have to zone out of Northern San d'Oria and return. So, Heorot teleports to Southern San d'Oria.
Southern San d'Oria (time 4:15):
Heorot teleports back to Northern San d'Oria.
Northern San d'Oria (time 4:44):
A lengthy scene takes place at the Cathedral when Heorot returns to Northern San d'Oria. To say that things do not go as planned is an understatement.
After the scene, Heorot enters Chateau d'Oraguille.
Chateau d'Oraguille (time 13:35):
More scenes take place as Heorot enters the chateau. I might have known Eald'narche had something to do with this. Heorot must help Trion pursue the Orcs to the Qu'Bia Arena in Fei'Yin.
After the scene, Heorot can talk to a few NPCs for more dialogue: Halver in the Great Hall; Rahal, Armaviont, and Milchupain in the Royal Knights' Quarters; and Curilla in the Temple Knights' Quarters. He can also talk to Nachou outside Prince Pieuje's room and Perfaumand outside Prince Trion's room.
Heorot talks to Faurie at I-9 to leave the chateau.
Northern San d'Oria (time 21:47):
Heorot teleports to Home Point #1 in Fei'Yin, Fauregandi.
Fei'Yin (time 22:14):
When Heorot arrives at Fei'Yin, a scene takes place with Princes Trion and Pieuje and their troops.
After the scene, Heorot arrives at Home Point #1 at K-8 in the first map. He sets Home Point #1 as his current home point. Then, he enters Qu'Bia Arena.
Qu'Bia Arena (time 26:39):
In Qu'Bia Arena, Heorot examines the Burning Circle. He chooses the battlefield for "The Heir to the Light".
A scene takes place when he arrives in the arena. Warlord Rojgnoj sics a veritable battalion of foes on the party.

Previously, the party continued carrying out quests originating in Fort O'Virbus. They did the standard quests "A Dark Cloud" and "The True Inspector". They will now reexplore the fort. Then, they will finally wrap up the long-running quest "Nopon Register".
The party resumes at the Hovering Reef 2 Camp in the Syra Hovering Reefs, Keves Castle Region. They skip travel to West Gate Road in Fort O'Virbus and check out the fort again. They do not find any new quests or info here, so maybe they have exhausted what they can do. As for the Container outside the Tap-Dancing Nopon, they may grab it later.
Then, they skip travel to the Colony 11: East Gate and check around Colony 11. A few NPCs there have new dialogue.
The party sets Fiona as their current Hero. They skip travel to the Queen's Chambers on the 5th Floor of Keves Castle. They check there to see if they can talk to Melia, as well as the Throne Room on the 4th Floor, but no luck.
The party sets "Nopon Register" as their active quest. They have only one Nopon left to find, but they will show the locations of all of them.
The party skip travels to the Hillside Ferronis Hulk in Millick Meadows, Aetia Region. The first Nopon is Shillshill, who issued the quest.
They skip travel to the Forward Post Camp in Alfeto Valley. Miimo is another Nopon for the quest.
The party skip travels to the Battlescar Ferronis Hulk in Everblight Plain. Papana is another Nopon for the quest.
They skip travel to Tsang Camp in Captocorn Peak, Upper Aetia Region. Momama is another Nopon for the quest.
The party skip travels to Bennel Cave Camp in Eagus Wilderness, Fornis Region. This is the initial location for Kikinu, but this Nopon has moved to Lake Rezzento.
They skip travel to Lake Rezzento Camp. Kikinu is one Nopon for the quest.
The party skip travels to the Desert Ferronis Hulk in Dannagh Desert. Sherolo is another Nopon for the quest.
They skip travel to Llyn Nyddwr Camp in Ribbi Flats. Meemoo is another Nopon for the quest.
The party skip travels to the Tableland Ferronis Hulk in the Rae-Bel Tableland. Redred is another Nopon for the quest.

The party skip travels to the Death's Door camp in the Ascension Grounds, Agnus Castle. Ruggyscruggy is another Nopon for the quest.
They skip travel to the Inlet Camp in the Erythia Sea, Cadensia Region. They talk to Selfifi and acquire a Blue Nopon Pebble. Finally, they can report back.
The party skip travels to the Hillside Ferronis Hulk in Millick Meadows, Aetia Region. They report to Shillshill. "Nopon Register" complete! Finally. The party's Nopon Caravans affinity reaches rank 5.
The party skip travels to Llyn Nyddwr Camp in Ribbi Flats, Fornis Region. They take the Portal to the Land of Challenge. From the Nopon Archsage, they undertake the "Ocean Day Parade" challenge. They win with Rank S and earn the Noah - Swimwear B outfit.
The party exits to Llyn Nyddwr Camp and saves. They will continue questing next time.
