For the second summer in a row, moths have invaded high park, and eaten all the leaves off the trees in one of my favourite spots to unwind in the evenings.
Every night for a week in mid June, it sounded like it was raining. It wasn't rain. There were so many months, eating so many leaves, producing so much poop, it sounded like rain pouring down as it fell.
Eww.
This video was recorded just after sunset back in late June.

I went for a walk around high park with my full spectrum converted Nikon Z5 and my MC 105mm/2.8 S macro lens and a 720nm Infrared filter.
Wide open, this is a wonderful combination. But stop it down to anything smaller than /5.6 and a bright spot appears right in the centre of the image. This bright spot has lower contrast and a different colour from the rest of the image. The colour can be hidden by converting the image to black and white, but this does not solve the reduced contrast. Best to shoot wide open if you're using this one for an infrared shoot.

I shoot raw + jpg, because I find raw files are slow to load when you are going through a lot of them in a hurry, and jpegs just load without fussing with any software.
But after deleting the jpgs, going through and manually deleting all those NEFs can be really tedious work - unless you use a super handy script, TrashSingleTwin.
With the help of TrashSingleTwin, I can go from 1321 to 1064 to 681 photos in a matter of seconds.

When I moved to this area many years ago, there was a controlled burn in the park. Ever since then, I've used it as a regular rest stop while I'm out on a walk through the park, watching life slowly return to the area as plants regrow. The change over the years has been remarkable.
And it looks like there is going to be another controlled burn in this spring! The adventure starts again!
Many of the plants in Toronto's high Park need fire as part of their lifecycle, and it also burns away invasive plants, so this can really help the local flora.
Shot on a Nikon Z5 (Full spectrum converted)
50mm /1.8 S lens with 720nm Infrared filter.
Background soundscape created by me in FL Studio 11.

tl;dr: it takes about 38 minutes.
Just click the button and wait. You don't have to watch the video.
Despite how dull and pointless the last Nexus 5 upgrade video was, it proved to be far more popular than I was expecting, so I thought, "Why not give you more of the same? Same content, slightly higher number at the end...if it works for Hollywood..."
My thoughts on 6? Meh... don't notice much of a difference. A few tweaks and improvements here and there, but nothing major.

For the last couple of months, I've been looking at older paintings of mine that hold great personal significance for me, either as stylistic breakthroughs, or pieces that trigger a flood of sentimental memories.
This painting holds great personal significance for me, since it was the very first successful acrylic 'Urban Landscape' I had produced in several years.
