The prevailing sentiment among Wall Street traders and investors is notably optimistic. Analyzing the historical pattern of Presidential 4th Year seasons reveals a typical trend of heightened market activity towards the conclusion, with a tendency for a sluggish start and some selling pressure in late March and early April. Considering the current economic landscape for 2024, where the Consumer Price Index is stabilizing, Imports from China are on the rise, and U.S. exports are declining, signs point to a repeat of this pattern. Furthermore, indicators such as Production per hour versus Continued Claims suggest recessionary signals, while the elevated levels of U.S. Business Debt and the prevalence of Zombie companies in the United States raise concerns, possibly indicating an impending recession by April 2024.
