Message Reading
Christ, in Greek Christos, equals Messiah in Hebrew. Both of these terms mean the anointed One. He is God’s anointed One, being anointed by God with His Spirit to create and to redeem in order to fulfill God’s eternal purpose. Matthew 16:16 speaks of “the Christ, the Son of the living God.” According to this verse, Christ has two main aspects. The first is His person, and the second is His work, ministry, or commission. As far as the Lord's person is concerned, He is the Son of God. As far as His work is concerned, He is the Christ of God. His being the Son speaks of who He is, and His being the Christ speaks of what He does. His being the Son peaks of His relationship with God, and His being the Christ speaks of His elationship with God's plan. The Anointed of God is the One ommissioned by God to do His work. Without exception, every item of God’s work in the universe is accomplished through Christ. Creation was accomplished by God in Christ; all things were created by God through Christ. (Col 1:16) Redemption was accomplished by Christ under God’s commission. (Col 1:22) All that God wants to do in the universe has been committed to Christ. For the accomplishment of God’s purpose, Christ took two steps. The first step was that He was incarnated to be a real man with flesh
and blood in order that He might be our Redeemer. Then He took the second step in His resurrection to become the lifegiving Spirit.
Today, by our believing in Him, He is imparted into us and within us as life. Christ is in our spirit. Now we must open the deepest part of our being to Him and call on His name every day. Then His Spirit comes into us, making our deadened spirit life. And spread from our spirit to every part of our mind, emotion, and will. The more Christ spreads within us, the more He makes His home in us.

Application
When Christ is in our spirit, He is our life. However, when He spreads into our heart, He also becomes our person. Whatever we do, we should do by taking Christ as our person. Concerning shopping, it is not a matter of what we intend to buy; it is a matter of who is buying that particular item. Are we the ones buying it, or is it Christ?
