Will It Be Difficult to Eat with New Dentures?
For a few weeks, eating with new dentures will simply feel a little strange.
You may need to have an awareness of your mouth and chewing actions that you did not have before.
But this strangeness will subside once you are familiar with the dental replacements.
It is important to chew on both sides of the mouth, so that you become equally familiar with both sides of the dentures.
For the most part, you should be able to eat the same things that you once did.
The exceptions are very hard and very sticky foods.
For example, you may have to sacrifice things like hard toffees and candies, unless you are prepared to suck and not chew on them.
Where possible, avoid chewing gum because it will pull at the dentures and may result in them coming loose at inconvenient times.

Periodontal disease, also known as gum disease, is a set of inflammatory conditions affecting the tissues surrounding the teeth. In its early stage, called gingivitis, the gums become swollen, red, and may bleed. This was a great educational project commissioned to provide the public with the correct medical information.

Teeth play various functional and esthetic roles. Having good teeth is all about quality of life, and as we advance in age, the ability to eat well becomes fundamentally important.
( Here is how I overcome my depression and emotions with having dentures and no teeth.)
A beautiful, radiant smile that does show healthy and natural teeth is one of the greatest assets any person can ever have and the mouth is always a focus of attention.
A beautiful smile symbolizes youth, health, and happiness. Loss of teeth shows an impact on one's smile leading to a loss of these symbols.
As any other parts of the body, even teeth loss gives one the feeling of being handicapped.
Teeth loss can rob much more than the ability to chew, eat, and speak properly.
It has a serious social, psychological, and emotional consequences impacting on one's quality of life, self-image, and self-esteem.
The absence of one or more natural teeth is considered as a part of a natural process which accompanies aging.
Few people experience it as a feeling of loss and few feel strong and prepared.
It has been seen that young individuals take it for granted that edentulousness is accompanied with age and so develop the acceptance.

Getting Dentures can Cause Depression in Certain people Before the age of 30 & 40
Now days, the younger generation is resorting to wearing dentures due to the costs of dental care and they cannot afford other alternatives such as implants or complete reconstruction of their teeth. This is due to the sugar and additives added in almost all our food.
Losing our teeth at a young age can also be cause by underlying medical conditions or medications and acid re-flux. Some sinus issues such as a deviated septum can cause tooth decay. Whatever the cause of tooth loss might be, our teeth have taken a toll from it and there's no going back only forward.
When you're in your 20's or 30's the last thing you want to hear from your dentist is, there's no saving your real teeth and you will need dentures. In most cases people cannot afford implants or crowns as the costs are outrageous and even if they could afford the costs of such, sometimes crowns and implants can fail overtime or some are just not good candidates for dental implants.
Depression is very common among younger denture wearers, especially women.
Women are usually self-conscious about their looks and having to pull out all of their teeth is something that will change their looks and this can be frightening.
Dentures can and will change the way you look. They can change you for the better in the long run with a healthy mouth and pretty smile.
There will be some facial changes overtime as your gums shrink, but this is why it's a must to make sure your dentures fit properly.
If you're teeth are to short this can make your smile off and your lips fold inward?
So you want to make sure the dentist is lengthening the teeth, where they will plump the lips out, unless you want to get lip injections every 6 months which no-one wants to do that.
If you're new to getting dentures and are depressed there are several support groups around on the internet with others around the world having similar issues. Just remember that you're going to be healthier and you will never have another toothache again.
Things will get better as time goes on, within 6 months after getting your dentures you will be a new person with a perfect smile!

Essentially, a denture is just a type of replacement for natural teeth. It is different from other kinds of replacement or repair, because it is not permanently attached to the natural teeth or jawbone.
This is because dentures are primarily designed to replace lots of teeth, all at one time. As the only way to replace a lost tooth is to use some form of anchor (usually the natural teeth), if multiple teeth on the same row are missing, dentures are the only viable solution.
This is why they are fitted in mouths that are missing all or most of the natural teeth. The two basic options for dentures then are complete and partial.
A complete set of dentures is worn for most of the day, as a replacement for natural teeth, but taken out for cleaning at night.
The partial denture works in the same way, but it is clipped on to the remaining natural teeth.
Both options are very common and come with their own unique advantages and disadvantages.
