Although Ravenoville is more than three kilometers north of US-designated “A” jump zone for the 502nd Parachute Infantry Regiment (101st Airborne Division), several sticks of this regiment land in the immediate vicinity of the village at First hours of June 6, 1944, victims of navigational errors by pilots who are hampered by the firing of German antiaircraft artillery. During the night and the morning of June 6th, the junior commander of the 3rd Battalion of the 502nd Parachute Infantry Regiment (PIR), Major John P. Stopka, gathers all the isolated elements near Ravenoville. These paratroopers guided by Stopka attack a farm (formerly of the Marmion family) south of Ravenoville, which was turned into a fulcrum by the Germans to control the crossroads between departmental roads 14 and 15. They kill six soldiers and make 24 prisoners and then moved into the buildings. Lost or isolated paratroopers reinforce the position: these men belong mainly to the 1st battalion of the 506th PIR (1/506th) and the 2nd battalion of the 502nd PIR (2/502nd), but Stopka also gathers men from the 3/502nd, 2/506th, battery A of the 377th Parachute Field Artillery Battalion and the 508th PIR (82nd Airborne Division). They defended themselves against several German attacks before retreating the next day in direction of Sainte-Marie-du-Mont.
On June 7, 1944, the 1st Battalion of the 22nd Infantry Regiment (4th Infantry Division) began its offensive from the northern outskirts of Saint-Germain-de-Varreville and reached Ravenoville in the late afternoon. Reconnaissance is carried out by elements of the 3rd battalion to the place of the Ravenoville Châlet on the beach, where the Wn 103 strongpoint (also known as Stp 12) is located. This site is defended along the dunes by an anti-tank wall; Its main armament consists of a 88 mm gun under casemate H612 with a headlight on the roof and a 50 mm gun under casemate derived from the Regelbau H667 type, the orientation of which makes it possible to beat by fire the beach in succession, to the north and South. Bombed by the Allied navy guns on D-Day, soldiers are still there when the Americans seize it, but they initially refuse to surrender. After a few negotiations, 82 German soldiers surrendered.

■ Type 90.
The Type 90 was also known as the “Sumida P” this was a versatile design meant for urban assault and security.
It was an armoured car produced by the Empire of Japan in the 1930s. It could operate on both the roadway and railway lines, for that purpose, it was equipped with two kinds of wheels: flanged steel wheels for railroad use, and solid rubber tires for roads, it would be produced for a limited time in the 1930s and only handful were build.
It would see action in China and in the Battle for Shanghai.
■ Type 91.
The Sumida M.2593 (Type 91) sometimes called “So-Mo” was an armoured car produced by the Empire of Japan in the 1930s. and just like the Type 90 It could operate on both the roadway and railway lines. They also carried replacement rails for repair of damaged sections of railroad.
Designed by the Sumiya firm, the M.2593 was produced beginning in 1933 at the Ishikawajima Motor Works.
The car was successful in covering great distances in the 1937 invasion of China. They were also used in Manchuria, to "guard railway lines". They could be coupled together and operate on the rails like "rolling stock". This led them to be used in joint operations with trains and were used for reconnaissance by the army. The M.2593 had a crew of six men, and was armed with either one 6.5 mm machine gun or one 7.7 mm machine gun.
It would also see action n the Philippines in the 1940s.
The Type 91 shared a problem of the Type 90 Naval Armored car, however, in that the suspension and solid rubber tires were harsh over anything but good roads, and as such it was not designed for going off-rail in rough terrain.
It would only be produced for one year in 1933, but in that year a 1000 of these vehicles would be produced.
■Type 93.
The Type 93 Armoured Car was an armoured car produced by the Empire of Japan in the 1930s. and just like the Type 90/91 It could operate on both the roadway and railway lines.
Armament consisted of one 7.7 mm machine gun and four 6.5 mm Type 91 machine guns or four Nambu Type 11 machine guns.
It was used by the Special Naval Landing Forces in Shanghai. though this platform was used for the Type 91 Broad Gauge Rail Tractor by the Army as an on-off rail convertible armored car. On-road the types are nearly indistinguishable visually aside from the mount points for removable rubber wheels on the sides and rail-specific gear on the front bumper on the Type 91, but the Navy did not operate the rail-going version.
The vehicle was considered a superior design to the Chiyoda armored car, but still only a handful were produced.
It would see action in China and proofed to do great in the battle of Shanghai, were its high angle fire was needed to reach the top floors of buildings on the narrow Chinese s

Rare WW2 Goliath Tracked Mine - Leichter Ladungsträger Goliath Sd.Kfz. 302/303.
The Leichter Ladungsträger Goliath was a German tracked mine developed in 1940, after the Germans salvaged the Kégresse's prototype out of a river in Paris.
The Kégresse's prototype RC vehicle was based upon British RC vehicles developed during WWI, but because these vehicles were ineffective, they were never used by the Allied forces or any further development was ever started by the Allies during WW2,
But Germany wanted to develop a similar vehicle for the purpose of carrying a minimum of 50 kg of explosives. and would be developed and produced by Borgward.
The result was the SdKfz. 302, this was an electric vehicle steered remotely via a joystick control box.but the vehicles proved to be highly unreliable and would break down with even the slightest touch.
The 302 was also costly to produce and this would result in the SdKfz. 303, a vehicle with a more reliable gasoline engine, but even this version was highly unreliable, engineers crews did not like them and most of the time they would not be used.
After the war, 7,564 were produces and almost all of them were abandoned and the Allies would find scrapyards full of these vehicles in Germany.
The Allies did not see any value in any of these vehicles and would not see any use in the Military after the war, but these vehicles it would set the base for RC technology in the modern military and the RC scale model world.

Rare WW2 KV-1S footage - КВ-1с серийный - Танк, танк клим ворошилов.
является дальнейшим развитием серии тяжёлых танков КВ-1
The development of the KV-1S began after the two prototypes for the KV-3 were rejected.
The Object 220 and 222 were based on a modified KV-1, the Object 220, had a longer hull, larger turret, and a 107 mm gun. The Object 222, was just a KV-1, but had a better turret layout.
The KV-1 had serious weight problems and with each upgrade, it proofed to be still under-powered and the transmission proved often prone to break downs.
The KV-1S needed to be much faster and lighter, so got a new gearbox, main clutch and improved engine, armor was reduced and a new cast turret was made thinner and it had smaller road wheels.
Production started in August, 1942, but the KV-1S proofed to be to slow and under-armoured, and was more expensive to produce then a T-34/76, it was also heavily disliked by tank crews, so in 1943 after 1370 vehicles had been made, it was discontinued.
Even due the KV-1S was a huge failure it was the influence of better late-war tanks such as the T-34/85 and IS tank series.
