But you know, none of these people who lived here or people that was they owe, every last one of them owed me for being here. More than just being here, me helping them after they were here.
I've never had a landlord that would loan me money. I've never had a landlord to help me fix my car. I've never and I rented guys I've rented for years. I've never, ever had a landlord like me.

Hello, folks. Today, we're going to show you what you can do where everybody else says, you can't do. This is a mobile home and used to have Formica, actually.
And then it was some sticker stuff and we took all that off. But we're going to do is put what you would see in backsplash and a fancy house. We're going to do it on a mobile home just the same. So we're going to be an American, not American't.

Hi, I'm Phil Bridges, owner of Straight Arrow Repair. Ever want to know how a repairman fixes things? Well come with me, and I'll show you how I solve problems. Let's make things better together.
All right now, we're putting it in place. Everything's right on. Clay mentioned that, you know, people might get fussy, about when we went to Home Depot, it had a probably 20 right hand, 20 left hands. They were sold out of straight. So I'm not the only one that thinks strikes are a way to go for overall. It's good to have left hand, right hand when you cut corners that direction in a round way.
But more power to you if you can figure out how to do it otherwise. Now, I'm gonna screw all this off. If this was a real long angle, okay? I would do that square piece again and then I would measure from that point to measure up to that mark. But in this case, it's short. So I may actually able to measure across the top and measure up for my length.
That's my mark for on the right hand side from that point to that point. And then the over, since it's less than 37 inches wide, which is what these panels are now, I'm going to put screws in this because I'm going to come back and pull the screws out, put the foam in. I don't want to open up those foam the valley closure until I'm ready to do them all.
The reason is because it just keeps on expanding. It doesn't wait for you a day or two later to come by because then it's just totally huge. So I'll take you through that as I think I have on several other videos that I've done. But this is the situation we're in. It's really steep, really slick on the metal.
When you're working by yourself, please be careful. Even if you're working with somebody, be careful. You don't want to be hung over because that seems drunk and then you're not in your faculties. You don't want to be high. A lot of roofers are drinkers and drug users and they fall off the roof and they get hurt and they don't have no workman's comp because they were testing dirty.
And it's I know why you do it because there's a lot of pain. You don't last very long. And if you do this trade all time, same as concrete work and a number of other jobs out there. And God bless you all. I don't want to do it all the time. The heat is horrible and concrete and roofing is hard on your body.
The probably carpet another one hard on certain sections of your body and high injury rates. There's a number of others. Guys, please be careful with yourselves. Pace yourself because your life is a marathon and every day's adventure. So hopefully I helped you with that and I'll see you another time.
This is Phil Bridges, if you like what you saw and think it might be helpful to somebody else, push that like button and let other people know what you and I know, and we'll work together toward making a brighter future. By the way, we're not Amera-Can'ts, we're Americans. See you next time.

The just the goal here today is to move tub up so they can get a lift under it and then when we can lift the person out. So that means I have to rebuild the floor to handle the lift and put another floor for this to sit on, move all plumbing, change the tub surround. So we're going to replace all this floor so it'll be strong. We've got to add a lot of wood and we'll make the place a lot better then it was.
Going along, basically, the funner part is tearing things up, I guess, particularly for a lot of other people. I would rather put things together, but anyway, we took up the laminate floor, which hides a lot of sins, but they noticed that there was a lot of soft areas and weird feeling places in here. So you can see that they did some patching here and it wasn't high enough, so they added some paneling. It’s a laminate, overlayment, and then they put down peal and stick and that's one of the reasons I quit using Peel Stick without putting additional glue trowel down, because eventually they will let it loose.
But they didn't like that. So the people who are selling it put this over everything, which of course that area will. Being it had to have this is five eighths most likely of particle board. So that means, somebody put a half inch and then put some overlayment to bring it up. So it's pretty weak.
But if you come over by the toilet. They patched up that area all that before they put the laminate floor over. That's the kind of thing that I see a lot with the laminate floor, with houses getting flipped. Like all it's just running over and the thickness of this floor will carry a lot of weight. But invariably whatever floor below it will give out. So we're not going to do that.
We're going to take all this particle board up and we're going to put in real plywood flooring and it's made for floors and we're going to get rid of all that. We're going to have a lot more two bys underneath. We'll take pictures as we go along and video. So there you go, guys. We're this far along and we're still tearing things up.

The perfectionist I am. I'm not real happy with the rubber not being as tight as I’d like it to be, but it's pretty good and it'll be even better when I get the concrete in. We set the height on this. We want an inch and seven inch.
Like so, we're going to caulk around that before we put cement in. but we're going to put the, the board, which we've got wallboard. We level it across here. So we have the same height all the way across the outside, which is what we expect it to be. And then to mark the top. So I can just put it up on the top.
And the bottom of it will be where the concrete needs to go to. And here's where everything is angling to. So.
So the wallboard we put across the top of the the board, the Hardie board that we're putting on the floor, it was actually Alure is the name of the company.
But the wallboard, we leveled it across from the sitting on top of that, which would give us the height we need all the way around in a little across the top. We got these marks here in here. So now we're going to pop a line across here. And then we measured down around this bench. And that will give us the bottom matching that which is what we want.
We're going to slope into this drain from all directions. But that's the height we're going to be all the way around the outside. Now it may sound complicated, but here we go.
Well. We poured. Bottom of the shower. Everything runs downhill. That's the thing. Plumber knows. Everything's going to go downhill. Well, we're going to come back tomorrow and see how we do. Kind of put all the rest of the Hardie board on the rest of this room, and we'll see what happens then.

We're cleaning out the drip edge on a mobile home. Some call this a gutter, but it actually helps to hold the roof to the mobile home. We're doing it to get ready to seal the roof, but it would be a good idea to either hire someone or clean them yourself about every year.

00:25 Cleaning out the drip edge for sealing the roof
01:38 Might want to clean them once a year

Transcript:
So one of the things we need to do is clean out the gutter, so it sort of works and it keeps all that trash from being in our way when we seal that edge where that gutter fastens to roof. So in this case, a lot of times I use a big screwdriver or a pipe or something, but this is a handle that works pretty good for brushes.
So I'm just pushing that along and then we'll sweep the excess, that gets on the roof off. But you, you need to get all of that out so it'll flow good. I've seen it where that trees growing in there where an acorn fell in and started growing from the water that kind of stuck around. It wouldn't be a bad idea to have somebody clean this out for you once a year.
Then you need to do this roof sealant every couple of years, you need to check it. This is what we're going to do. And then we'll show you what we start doing next.

15 to 20 mile an hour winds today. 30 degree temperature. We're underneath the house and I'm 62. I came out of high school. I weighed 171 lbs, 6’, 171. Had like a, 31 inch waist. Now at 62, although I got like 20 lbs on me, I am six foot three, 280, so I should be 260. How did I go from 170 to 260?
It's all pain. I didn't just keep growing and get real fat. It was muscle and hard work. Nothing but hard work. I'm doing concrete work. My dad was electrician, but when I got out of high school, I went over to Austin, Texas, and did concrete work. And then I went on to drywall metal stuff. And I worked hard every step of the way.
So if you're looking for somebody to sympathize with you, I can do that. But am I doing you any good? Are you getting the fortitude it takes to make it through tough times? Remember the people that come over into this area? I'm in northwest Arkansas. They came from the East Coast in wagons. Animals are trying to get them at night because they want to eat.
They had to be tough. Go to snow, high heat, walk, ride horses, ride wagons. Women might have to have 15 kids to have three, that live if they live because they nobody knew to wash your hands and any any kind of injury could kill you because you get an infection. So how tough are we now? How tough do we need to be to survive the future?
Stop whining about all the tough jobs you have and start thinking about how tough we need to be to survive and how tough it takes a person to be to be successful. Think about it.
