Immortal: Unchained is a science fantasy action role-playing video game published by British studio Game Odyssey Ltd. and developed by Swedish studio Toadman Interactive for Microsoft Windows, Playstation 4, and Xbox One. The gameplay is inspired by the Dark Souls series, with a focus on futuristic firearms instead of melee combat, while the setting and plot are inspired by Norse mythology and the events of Ragnarok. Immortal: Unchained is a third-person action game heavily inspired by the hardcore action role-playing game gameplay of the Dark Souls series, with a comparable difficulty level and many identical mechanics. The main deviation is the focus on firearms and gun combat instead of melee combat with medieval fantasy weaponry. Enemies have critical hit locations (typically the head and a glowing weak point on their backs) which can be targeted for significantly increased damage. Immortal: Unchained takes place in an alternate universe with a backstory heavily inspired by Norse mythology. At the beginning of time, the Nine Realms and Nine Races were created by the Monolith, a stone artifact at the center of the universe with a bas relief of a tree on its face. The Prime and Azurian races went to war over control of the Monolith, with the Primes emerging victorious and taking their place as the rulers of the realms. The Prime's leader, King Naro, enlisted the aide of a Degonite warrior named Cathal to help fight the Azurians, to the objection of his sons Orin and Naylon. Due to their animosity towards him, the other Primes forbid Cathal from reproducing; instead, he tears out part of his heart and splits it into three pieces, which he uses to bring to life three children; Malog, Arlen, and Iska. Using the power of the Monolith, the three Oracles foretell a prophecy in which the three children of Cathal will bring about the downfall of the Primes. In an attempt to avert the prophecy, the Primes imprison, exile, or kill Cathal's children, causing Cathal to swear revenge against the Primes, starting by slaying Naro's son Naylon, the most beloved of the Primes. Cathal is imprisoned for this crime. Malog is imprisoned in the depths of the Prime's capital city, growing into a powerful beast destined to kill King Naro. Arlen is exiled to the human forest world of Veridian, where he is tracked down and murdered by Orin in an attempt to avert the prophecy which states Arlen will kill Orin; however Arlen's vengeful spirit merges with the forest and corrupts it, trapping Orin when he attempts to escape. Iska escapes to the Abyss, where she uses cybernetics to create undead warriors, declaring herself the Queen of the Dead and raising an army of undead to get revenge against the Primes. Ace Attorney Investigations 2: Prosecutor's Path is an adventure video game developed by Capcom. It was released in Japan for the Nintendo DS in 2011 and for Android and iOS in 2017; Capcom does not plan to release the game outside Japan, but a full English fan translation was released in 2015. The game is the sixth entry in the Ace Attorney series, and a sequel to Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth. The game follows prosecutor Miles Edgeworth, detective Dick Gumshoe and the teenage thief Kay Faraday, who investigate five cases; they face off against judge Hakari Mikagami, a rival character who is part of a "prosecutor purge" that removes weaker prosecutors from duty. The gameplay is divided into two types of phases: investigations, where the player searches the crime scene for evidence and talks to witnesses, and rebuttals, where they aim to find contradictions in witnesses' testimonies using the evidence found during the investigations. Ace Attorney Investigations 2 is an adventure game in which players control prosecutor Miles Edgeworth, who investigates five cases; in one of the cases, the player also controls Edgeworth's father Gregory. The gameplay is mostly the same as in the previous game, Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth, and is divided into two types of phases: investigations and rebuttals. During the investigations, the player controls Edgeworth directly; they search the crime scene for evidence, and talk to witnesses to learn new information. As the player investigates, observed information is saved as Edgeworth's thoughts; by combining these, the player can obtain further information that would otherwise remain hidden. At some points, the player can use a device called "Little Thief" to generate hologram reproductions of the crime scene using known information about it; the player can walk around in the recreations and point out inconsistencies with the evidence, and update the recreation accordingly. Sometimes the player is able to switch back and forth between recreations of the crime scene at two different times. A new gameplay mechanic, "logic chess", is used during investigations when a character refuses to testify. The player interrogates them, which is visualized as a game of chess, with the player aiming to destroy the other character's chess pieces.
