IMIN and JUNGKOOK of K-pop boy group BTS will begin their mandatory military service today (December 12).
Their enlistment comes one day after two other BTS members―RM and V―enlisted at a different training center.
RM and V quietly enlisted at the Korean Army Training Center in Nonsan, Chungcheongnam-do, with support and a send-off from their fellow members―JIN, J-HOPE, SUGA, JIMIN and JUNGKOOK.
JIMIN and JUNGKOOK will start their military service as active-duty at the 5th Infantry Division's Recruit Training Center in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi-do; where their fellow member JIN is currently serving his duty as a drill instructor.
After the two remaining members' enlistment today, all seven members of the group will be on hiatus to fulfill their military duties.
In December last year, BTS' oldest member JIN became the first one to begin his military service; followed by J-HOPE in April.
Another member SUGA started his military service as a social service worker in September.
As all BTS members are expected to be fully discharged from the service in June 2025, the members expressed their hopes to resume activities as a full group around that year.
