Boston - TEST - More Than A Feeling - UPGRADED Firefly Elite
And here's the official Boston test of my Seymour-Duncan / MojoTone upgrades to my favorite Les Paul I've ever played!
'More Than A Feeling' is from Boston's 1976 self-titled debut album and is written by Tom Scholz.
SIGNAL CHAIN:
GUITAR: Firefly 'Elite' Les Paul Custom (named 'Maddie' for a very close, long-time, friend) - Bought from Guitars Garden for $210 shipped! It came to me in a defective state. I gave it a full fret leveling, put a new GraphTech Tusq nut on it, put GraphTech 'RATIO' Locking Tuners on it, and now 'Maddie' is AWESOME! The new nut almost fully fixed the intonation problems I was having. Sure, it's not perfect. But, it's intonated! Now repaired, the guitar is THE BEST Les Paul I've ever played - including the many Gibsons I've played.
NEW UPGRADES (9/5/21): MojoTone Solderless wiring harness, Switchcraft 3-Way toggle switch, and the Seymour-Duncan 'Distortion Mayhem' pickups (SH6).

Well, since it's just about Halloween, here's some Sabbath! I upgraded the bridge pickup of this ESP Ltd Viper-10 to a Seymour-Duncan SH6 'Duncan Distortion' pickup - but, I'm NOT using it in this video. I'm using the neck pickup which I left as the stock ESP-Designed humbucker. Sounds awesome, in my opinion! I also made the preset for this one this morning. (And learned the song this morning as well!)
'Children Of The Grave' is from Black Sabbath's 1971 album 'Master Of Reality' and is written by Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward.
Just reading through the lyrics of this one struck me. This song is VERY relevant right now!

Can you see the real me? Can ya? CAN YA?! This lovely little Epiphone SG Special was one of the first guitars I'd bought in many years. I picked it up in January 2019 off Craigslist locally as a package deal with an Epiphone Les Paul 100. It was $125 for the Les Paul and $100 for this SG. I kept both stock until Fall of that year when I upgraded both guitars' bridge pickups with DiMarzio Super-Distortion humbuckers. I wanted more bite - and I got it!
'The Real Me' is the first song on The Who's 1973 masterpiece called 'Quadrophenia'. It's written by Pete Townshend. Quadrophenia DEFINED my life back when I was in my first year of high school. I was so awkward and didn't fit in at all. This album was my anthem!

I decided to try and create a good Gary Richrath / REO Speedwagon preset for Guitar Rig 5 Pro. I wanted to use my Epiphone '60s Les Paul Standard because it looks the most like the one Gary used to play in the band. I think it came out very well!
This '60s Les Paul weighs a ton! I think it's definitely as heavy as - if not heavier than - my Firefly Les Paul Custom (Elite)!
'Take It On The Run' is from REO Speedwagon's 1981 album "Hi Infidelity" and is written by the late, GREAT, Gary Richrath - lead guitarist of the band.
