Logical Elements - Million Miles Away Although at present the western Egyptian desert is totally dry, this was not the case in the past. In fact, between 130,000 and 70,000 years ago, this area was grasslands supporting numerous animals with annual rain fall sufficient to form lakes. Now of course modern science and archeology concludes from this that these things allowed civilization to develop here and grow. I'm not going to argue against that and I believe it certainly is part of the growth of civilizations. However, I'd like to put forth another idea, one that has spiritual ramifications. If life flows from the spiritual into the natural, it would be easy to see that in fact, the presence of a people who had understanding or perception of higher principles would affect the flow of life and impact the natural state of the earth, thereby allowing livable conditions to sprout. Of course the appearance is just the opposite but our minds can grasp the idea if we allow it. The circle at Nabta Playa is one of the oldest monolithic sites in the world currently known and it demonstrates how far back cosmological thought goes. To think modern day man is in any way more superior, more advanced or more knowledgeable then these ancient ancestors is one of horrendous hubris. The symbolism that accompanies any cosmological system is apparent. In the modern world we laugh at any symbolism suggesting of a higher state of mind or life. But its quite clear these ancient realms knew otherwise and hopefully attempted to live according to these higher principles. What and why these regions became fully desert can only be guessed at from a spiritual viewpoint. What is clear is that the knowledge and wisdom of these ancient peoples has been lost and with it the modern man is much diminished. Enjoy the February 2013 episode of Ancient Realms.
