Elegoo Smart Robot Car Kit - Learn Arduino programming! Supplied by Elegoo
Something quite different today, we're putting together a kit to build a little Arduino controlled rover-style car with a bunch of interesting sensors. So we'll be looking at how it goes together, how it functions, and what we can do to think about expanding its capabilities.

Just a spur of the moment thing, and we didn't do very well because we put the GoPro right next to a little tree ! So I'm sure everyone can do better.
I think bonus points for multiple aircraft in shot, and of course it's just as much fun to fly planes at a camera

This is to document the various stages of development of my K-Quads, as designed and printed by my friend Neil (krikey72)
To expand on the video slightly, and explain the changes. I started out using a 2s setup with the Turnigy 1811-3800 motors with a KK2.1. This started off well, but one of the problems I found was that the motors wouldn't last the distance. I was trying to tune out wobbles in the quad, but I noticed it was being caused by some of the motors pulsing at high revs. The connections to the windings are so fragile that they are easy to damage. So all my efforts with the KK2 tuning, and new firmware, and then new firmware on the ESCs were useless.
By the time Neil revised his design for the V5, lots of people had jumped on the RCX motors, and as I was having issues with my original motors it seemed like a good time to go 3s. The result was terrible wobble once again.
Could it be the FC, I noticed I was having the tune down the gains on the kk2 so low that the quad was loosing it's attitude, and yet there was still wobble there. So after some weeks of trying I managed to get a naze32 board - it handled the issues better, but there were still issues.
Perhaps the ESCs then, I got myself some Afro 12A escs - which I ended up not even trying - why, because Coyote and his friend Keith had been doing some research and found there was a synching issue with many ESCs and these motors. The verdict was to use the RCX ESCs or get some HK10a and flash them with BLheli - I opted for the later.

It almost seems like having access to a 3D printer is a must in the world of FPV. So if you haven't already got one yet, then you might want to check out this excellent printer from Creality. With an auto-leveling bed, printing over your own LAN, and the ability to print at great speed it seems worthy of a thorough testing!

Myself, krikey and FlyBoySee went out for a fly today - and although we had some lovely sunshine, for the vast majority of the day it was blowing a gale. However, it calmed down just enough as the sun was setting for us to get a bit of a chase in, but even then we were being thrown around all over the place.
Both the Venturi and the Falcon are made my flyingwings.co.uk (although I don't think the Falcon is out officially yet - it's a smaller, non laminated wing)
My Storm OSD's Gyro is still drifting out, so I have no stabilisation to help, as soon as I'm happy with the config, I'll also stick a keycam or something onboard for some HD recording.
Our conversation is picked up by the ground recorder, I hope it gives you an impression of just how much fun we have trying to fly chases
