I bit the bullet and paid out my ass for this 3080ti For-The-Win-3 Ultra EVGA card, which is the exact one I wanted when it came available. I balked at various prices for weeks, but after seeing the prices only hover around a price a few hundred dollars above MSRP the entire time, I figured things aren't getting better anytime soon. With my luck, prices will hit the floor when new GPUs come available, or the artificial crypto-mining shortages cease due to some major action in the fed or China, or somewhere. Whatever, I'm resigned to this fate.
I really wanted the 3080ti because it looked noticeably faster than my EVGA 2080ti xc2 ultra, which is a fantastic card, but during video rendering of 4k files, takes hours to complete. Also during editing, it was still a somewhat halting experience, so I wanted to do what I could to improve this and thereby my quality of life. I also game just a bit as a 50+ year-old boomer, but this isn't a priority for me. I occasionally play Doom, F1, WarThunder, The Division, PGA Tour, and SniperElite4 which is my favorite. All boomer games I know. I grew up in the late 70s to early 80s playing space invaders, Gond, donkeyKong and that ilk of ridiculously boomer games. I was an addict as a teen, but learned to get my ass off vidya before going off to college. Now that I'm fully retired, I can indulge again, but it's not quite the same feeling as an old man.
I know that nobody watches my boring fucking vids, therefore I enjoy making them even more as a type of memory placeholder for myself. This vid was made in the afternoon of early fall September, 9/20/21, as I waited for my wife to come home from work (she's still refusing to retire because she's younger than me).
This is the perfect off-the-shelf mechanical keyboard. It has absolutely everything I can imagine.
When looking at mechanical keyboards, my priorities are – 1800-style layout, tactile switches, solid quality, quality keycaps, nice conservative appearance, wireless & bluetooth capability with longlasting battery, quiet yet deliciously clickety mechanical keyboard, having lighting with some customizability.

This is a re-upload from when I turned 48, from 6/10/2015 youtube.
Here are some of my thoughts in the midst of my life as an aging 48 year-old.
Now as I look back, it has all gone by all too fast, in a blur, the time that has passed seems a brief moment...mid-life crisis is this acute sense of being trapped and the desperate desire to escape the life one leads - to search for a better life perhaps, or to explore the possibility of finding a better life.
PMV pro mini SKU: SM3001S2. MSRP $1499.00. 2 year warranty.
On ebay you can buy one as I did from Pinehurst Coin for $1300 shipped.
https://www.sigmametalytics.com/product-page/pmv-pro-mini-standard-sete
Sigma Metalytics is a Chico California private company.
They have made for several years the PMV original device, which is a large desktop device with B&W 1cm x 4cm LCD screen on the device that gives you an idea of sample purity using a bracketing indicator. It is also pricey at $899. The largest PVM pro desktop is a $1800 device with onboard color LCD display. Their technology is patented, but possibly involves either an electric current (most likely), or radiofrequency waves passed through the metals analyzed. My Pro Mini is said to penetrate through up to 1cm thick samples, but if your sample is too small, such as with small scraps, or tiny coins the wand will yield more reliable results.
These devices are for people who are paranoid about their precious metal collections and don't feel magnetic testing, weight and measurement confirmation, and "ping testing" is adequate. For gold you can test with iodine for tarnishing, but this only tells you the surface coat is gold, not the interior which can easily be tungsten which has similar weight as gold and is nonmagnetic also. There are horror stories of $800k gold bricks with just a thin plate of gold and otherwise tungsten through and through - this was confirmed only with drilling it through. These conductivity of metal analyzers offer you nondestructive and fast/efficient confirmation of your collection.
Here is a very excellent alternative tester that uses similar technology but is too new to buy in the USA yet: https://www.gold-analytix.com/goldscreenbox
Here are some other testers taht are cheaper but far less satisfying to use:

I bought this item without incentives, promos, and made this video without any prompting by the company. No compensation of any kind was offered nor taken.
I show a simply setup of these mini-2242-form-factor m.2 sata III SSDs into a mini aluminum retractable USB enclosure. These are great for transferring files from computer to computer. They are the most portable of USB devices that are both FAST and replaceable easily. I received no compensation in any way to show these - I just like them.
We humans need emotion and magic to feel joy, to feel we are fully living, and that we have something to strive for - something to hope for. When our world and our industrialized technology has utterly scrubbed our lives clean of such things, by the act of oversupply and plenty, what can we point towards, what can we look forward to, what then can we do to generate a sense of pleasure in living?

The business continued to grow such that by 1955, they were producing 1000 timepieces daily by 500 employees, and by 1972, 1643 watches/day from 900 employees. Certina joined w/General Watch Co. In 1971 pressured by cheap reliable watches from Japan they abandoned in-house calibres, and by late 1970s manufacturing operations moved to Biel/Bienne.
W/merger of SSIH and ASUAG companies, Certina fell under conglomerate management alongside Mido and Tissot. Certina became member of Swatch group (SMH group) in 1983. By 1959 produced the DS (double security) line – Kurth engineered concept of suspending the movement inside a highly reinforced case which they named DS – this increased shock resistance and water resistance. By 2014 certina’s logo changed to turtle, symbolizing protection from water and shock. Certina wanted to distinguish itself as more expensive and higher quality than peers in SMH like Tissot, but is still seen at this same level – considered as middle of the Swiss watch brands in prestige alongside tissot & mido, but also the highest value swiss watch. This watch was taken on a climb up Himalayas. Brand ambassadors included Muhammad Ali. Certina was official timekeepers for 1990s motorcycle grand prix, and of 2014 World Rally championship.
This is my UnBoxing experience of the long-awaited Keychron Q5 96% layout CNC-machined case with knob hot-swappable south RGB mechanical keyboard. It was $225 shipped/taxed to the USA from Hong Kong area – it took just 6 days from order to delivery. This will hopefully be my final keyboard ever, since it appears to be the ultimate keyboard in every way missing nothing I want in a keyboard.

Cracked iPhone XS screen replacement costs $300, which is the price of a new iPhone XS, so replacing the screen at apple or UBreakIfix is stupid.
Here I try for my first time to replace an iphone screen replacement I bought used on amazon for $47 taxed/shipped.
