Network Engineer Interview Questions and Answers for Freshers
In this video I suggest questions and answers for freshers or more experienced people attending their first or later interview for the position of Network Engineer or Network Technician.

Network Engineer Interview Questions and Answers for Freshers

I’m going to give my tips and advice for anyone wondering how to prepare for an interview for the position of Network Engineer or Network Technician, either as a fresher looking for your first job, or as an experienced engineer.

I’ve been working in the telecomms industry for about 27 years and I’ve not only attended many interviews as a candidate but also participated in the interview process when hiring new engineers.

I can’t speak for all interviews, everywhere, and for all companies, but I can pass on my advice based on personal experience.

Interviews in the IT industry often contain two parts.

There is the technical part, in which the employer determines if you have the necessary skills and experience for the role, or if you’re a fresher looking for your first job, the required aptitude and attitude.

And there is the other part, in which the employer determines if you have necessary communication skills and whether or not you’re likely to fit in with the existing team.

So as well as your impressive list of Cisco or other certifications (if any), the prospective employer will also want to know about you, your personality, and your approach to work.

Let’s go through the process as if you have an interview lined up and you’re preparing for it.

A bit of planning and research will not only give you a little confidence but it will also strengthen your chances of success.

First, do a little company research. Visit their website, read their mission statement, and memorise some of their key products and services.

Next, plan your journey and make sure you know exactly where to go and how to get there.

This may seem obvious but you don’t want to arrive late and stressed because you didn’t know where to park or you were unaware of road or rail delays en route.

Then rehearse the journey. Go through it on Google Street Maps or, if it’s not too far away, perhaps even drive or travel to the location before your interview date.

Knowing exactly where to go and how to get there takes away some of the pre interview stress.

Before you arrive, make sure you know exactly who to ask for at Reception, who will be present in the interview (as it could be two different people), and where in the building interview is to be held.

If you can obtain some or all of these details before the day, you might be able to do a little background research on the interviewer by checking the company website for a bio of that person, or perhaps on LinkedIn.

Now we come to the interview itself.
