Cinnamon Vanilla French Toast ~ Torani Friday ~ Noreen's Kitchen
This week for Torani Friday I wanted to share a simple way to use your syrups. Put it in the custard for French toast and flavor that up any way you like! I chose to use a simple cinnamon and vanilla combo, but I think you could go so many ways with this!

I can think of a ton of flavor combinations that will work here, not just the traditional! Think strawberry, blueberry or kiwi! How about Tiramisu or cheesecake? So many things that you can toss in that custard to make your French toast uniquely delicious!

While I know that making French toast is most likely a skill many of you have mastered, I love to mix things up so that is why I wanted to share this today and show you how I like to add the syrups to the custard mixture to make something ordinary, extraordinary.

I think the secret to good French toast is to almost over soak your bread. You can use whatever bread you have. I love to use my homemade sandwich loaf and slice it extra thick and let the bread over soak just until the point that is almost won't hold together when you want to transfer it from the custard to the hot pan Then I immediately put a lid on the pan that is over a medium heat and let the French toast cook until it looks puffy and the custard has souflee'd a bit. When that happens, I take of the lid, gently flip the toast and keep the lid off and let it cook for another three minutes or so for the other side to get nice and brown. Then it's time to serve and enjoy.

I hope this gives you some ideas of how you can think outside the bottle and make your French toast something truly special and unique!

I hope you give this a try and I hope you love it!

Happy Eating!

I have served mine with bacon, maple syrup and some fanned strawberries but you can do what you like. A dusting of powdered sugar is always welcomed!
