Lexus NX 300 F SPORT (2021) Luxury SUV – Ready to fight BMW X3?
The 2021 Lexus NX’s straight-line performance remains unchanged, keeping the significant improvements to the vehicle’s suspension tuning to enhance ride and handling. The springs, stabilizer bars and bushings improve turn-in response and steady-state cornering. The NX’s chassis has the available Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) based on the advanced system found in the LC 500, which offers a range of up to 650 instantaneous compression and damping adjustments (up from 30) for enhanced control and overall handling stability. The foundation for the NX 300’s handling agility and ride comfort is a highly rigid body structure that makes extensive use of hot-stamped high tensile steel along with aluminum. The Lexus NX uses MacPherson strut front suspension and a trailing arm double wishbone type rear suspension that separates the coil springs and dampers to help optimize agility, control and ride comfort.
The NX 300’s 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine produces 235 hp at 4800-5,600 rpm with 258 lb.-ft. of torque from 1,650-4,000 rpm. The D4-S injection system, which uses a combination of direct fuel injection and port fuel injectors, helps ensure ample power and crisp responsiveness at all engine speeds. Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence-Wide (VVT-iW) optimizes torque throughout the engine speed range and allows the engine to start in the Otto cycle and then run in the more fuel-efficient Atkinson cycle at cruising speeds.
The sequential six-speed automatic transmission uses Torque-Demand control logic to calculate required engine torque to deliver quick response and exhilarating acceleration feel. The G-force Artificial Intelligence (G-AI) system enables more spirited driving by selecting the optimum gear and downshift pattern in response to G-force.
As in other Lexus models, the driver can choose preferred driving responses using the Drive Mode Select dial on the center console. The system adjusts parameters for multiple systems, including throttle response and the power steering assist curve. The default setting is Normal. Sport mode sharpens responses, and ECO mode helps enhance more fuel-efficient driving.
For the 2021 Lexus NX 300, All-Wheel Drive (AWD) helps provide maximum traction and cornering control. Taking input from various sensors (vehicle speed, steering speed and angle, throttle angle and yaw rate), the system continuously monitors and actively governs torque distribution to the rear wheels, as needed, via an electromagnetically controlled coupling in the rear differential. Under most normal driving conditions, the system operates in front-wheel drive mode and can send up to 50 percent of available torque to the rear wheels when extra traction is needed.
The NX 300 F SPORT grabs the senses with its detailed design, handling performance and sound. The F SPORT exterior includes a unique honeycomb front end with a more aggressive grille, optional Premium Triple-Beam LED headlights and a lower bumper with elegant chrome treatment. The front-end of the NX 300 F SPORT achieves an even more aggressive appearance thanks to a lower bumper, rear lower bumper and taillamps, an addition of laser fog light housing, larger exhaust opening and an 18-inch F SPORT alloy wheels with All-Season or Summer tires.
Enjoy the sound of an engine revving? The Lexus NX 300 F SPORT obliges with Active Sound Control (ASC), which brings some of the engine note through the speakers and enhances it, with volume adjustable by the driver.
Body-hugging, quilted NuLuxe sport seat surfaces are exclusive to the F SPORT, which also offer an exclusive interior color, Circuit Red. The driver grips a perforated leather-trimmed F SPORT steering wheel with paddle shifters and brushed metallic gearshift.
The F SPORT’s unique instrumentation is inspired by the Lexus LFA supercar. The driver can view real-time performance with the G-Force meter “G-ball” in the Multi Information Display. The G-ball moves in response to the vehicle’s lateral and longitudinal forces. The MID displays the peak force in each direction. Display bars indicate the steering angle, throttle opening angle and brake pressure. The MID also provides a turbo-boost display.

Airbus Beluga XL is the biggest cargo plane ever and enters service on 9 Jan 2020, adding XL capacity to the Airbus fleet.
The BelugaXL has entered into service, providing Airbus with 30% extra transport capacity in order to support the on-going production ramp-up of commercial aircraft programmes.
The aircraft, which is an integral part of Airbus’ industrial system, made its first operational flight on 9 January. This is the first of six BelugaXL to begin work alongside the BelugaST predecessors, with the additional aircraft being introduced between 2020 and 2023.
At 63 metres long and 8 metres wide, the BelugaXL has the largest cargo bay cross-section of all existing cargo aircraft worldwide. The BelugaXL can carry two A350 XWB wings compared to the BelugaST, which can only carry one. With a maximum payload of 51 tonnes, the BelugaXL has a range of 4,000 km. (2200nm).
The BelugaXL is based on an A330-200 Freighter, enabling the re-use of existing components and equipment, and is powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engines. The lowered cockpit, the cargo bay structure and the rear-end and tail were newly developed jointly with partners, giving the aircraft its distinctive look.
The BelugaXL is the latest addition to Airbus’ transportation portfolio. While air transport remains the primary method for transporting large aircraft components, Airbus also uses road, rail and sea transport to move parts between its production sites. Like the BelugaST, the aircraft will operate from 11 destinations in Europe, continuing to strengthen industrial capabilities and enabling Airbus to deliver on its commitments.

Ford, Bedrock and Bosch are launching a demonstration project with connected Ford Escape test vehicles that can drive and park themselves inside Bedrock’s Assembly Garage in Detroit using Bosch smart infrastructure. This is the first U.S. infrastructure-based solution for automated valet parking where the vehicle will park itself inside a parking garage.
The research will take place in the Corktown neighborhood, the site of Ford’s new mobility innovation district, anchored by Michigan Central Station. The district will draw mobility innovators and disruptors from around the world to develop, test, and launch new solutions to solve urban transportation challenges, improve mobility access for everyone and prepare for the increasingly connected and autonomous world ahead.
The demonstration project will be on display on the ground floor of Bedrock’s Assembly Garage, the real estate developer’s first residential redevelopment project in the Corktown neighborhood. The project aligns with Bedrock’s vision of combining ground up and historical developments with the newest technology in parking and mobility - including the current installation of the Midwest’s first automated parking stall, which parks and retrieves vehicles in the basement of the Free Press Building using street-level load bays.
The automated valet parking technology will be running for Assembly tenant and private demonstrations through the end of September.

The Goodyear reCharge is a revolutionary self-regenerating concept tire that can adapt and change to meet individual mobility needs.
At the core of the Goodyear reCharge concept is a reloadable and biodegradable tread compound that can be recharged with individual capsules, radically simplifying the process of replacing your tires. Filled with a customized liquid compound, these capsules allow the tread to regenerate and the tire to adapt over time to climatic circumstances, road conditions, or simply how you want to travel. Thanks to artificial intelligence a driver profile would be created around which the liquid compound would be customized, generating a compound blend tailored to each individual.
The compound itself would be made from a biological material and would be reinforced with fibres inspired by one of the toughest natural materials in the world - spider silk. This would make it both extremely durable and 100 percent biodegradable.
In addition to radically simplifying the process of replacing your tires with rechargeable capsules, the tread would be supported by a light-weight, non-pneumatic frame and tall-and-narrow shape. This is a thin, robust low-maintenance construction that would eliminate the need for pressure maintenance or downtime related to punctures.

Hyundai transforms H-100 into the Porest campervan.
Hyundao transformed its Hyndai H-100 utility vehicle into a motorhome. It's not just an H-100 with a bed inside it either. It's fully appointed and even includes a kitchen sink and a bathroom sink. While it has the front end of an H-100, that's the only visual link the Porest has with its cargo-hauling counterpart. The rest of it aims to be a hotel room on wheels.
The “living room” of the Porest has features a brown and white theme that wouldn't look out of place in a house or a condominium. Wood accents are present too, adding a more home-like ambiance in the campervan. A pair of sofas are included as well, and those seats are modular as well. Those can even be transformed into forward-facing seats (with seatbelts) for safer travels. The center table on the other hand can be adjusted in three levels.
On to the kitchen and it comes with a refrigerator, a microwave oven, and stacks of drawers and overhead cabinets, along with the aforementioned sink. However, a stovetop isn't fitted to the vehicle, but you can plug in an induction cooker instead. An on-board exhaust fan prevents the camper from getting too smokey inside during cookouts.
Moving to the bathroom and there's a folding sink in there, plus a shower and even a mirror. Curiously, the toilet is optional.
Now, for the sleeping quarters. Hyundai has employed a power bunk bed in the Porest which lowers itself from the ceiling of the motorhome. The sofas can also be folded flat to form a bed. Not only that, there's a special room towards the back of the campervan and the room can also be extended in the top-spec Porest.
Hyundai also fitted a special touchscreen which allows the passengers to control cabin temperature and indoor lighting. A smartphone app also allows the owner to check the vehicle's battery levels and freshwater levels as well.
Other options? Air-conditioning can be fitted to the motorhome, along with heated flooring. For the outside, an awning system may be attached, plus a solar panel to lessen the load on the on-board inverter.
Sadly, it seems that the Porest won't be offered outside of South Korea. Still, it's amusing to see something as utilitarian as the H-100 turned into a luxury motor home, which is reflected in its price. In South Korea, it starts at 41.000 USD for the base model, 54.000 USD for the mid-spec, and 64.000 USD for the variant equipped with all the bells and whistles.
