Light and Dark...What you can see, and what you can't: this is a constraint around which gameplay develops. But is the party's opportunity to rest a place were opportunities and constraints could also develop? ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AharoHdDSPs

HERE is the long-awaited overview of Starship Combat in Star Trek adventures. We build on several previous videos and cover the whole of the action economy at the various stations. As is usual for a first foray into a rules topic, this is light on advice or 'tips' and heavy on straightforward walkhrough of the rules. In this case a lot of different segments of the rules intersect on your starship's bridge. So get ready for a big one!

For me, and for most of us, I think we'd prefer to learn a system as a player before stepping behind the screen. I don't get that luxury often, but...here is something a little more specific.

In this first chapter delving deeper into one of Hârn's kingdoms, we look at the overall geographic outlook of Kaldor. What is this place? How big is it, and how big is it relative to the rest of Hârn?

FUDGING THE DICE, Adding HP, nudging damage up and down a point, changing the DC after the fact, dictating saving throw results by fiat...At the end of the day, one of the main reasons many folks are fond of telling 'little white lies' from behind the screen when playing Dungeons and Dragons or any other Role-Playing game
YES, there are RPGs where all the dice are 'rolled in the open,' and in Cypher system and Dungeon World the GM/MC doesn't even roll dice at all. And yet? Fudging takes on a different form, even there.
2d20 is one of the few systems that has a precise procedure leading up the die roll that leaves little room for these typical GM 'band aid' moments, instead offering the 'success at cost' to the GM interested in arresting a plunge into 'sad RPG time.'
Anyway, Irrespective of what people DO after they have this feeling about a die roll, what if we took that moment where the impulse hangs in the air and used it as valuable data about where we have room to improve? To more precisely narrate, to pay closer observance to the procedures around rolling, and build our system mastery.

It's an old idea. Some people say so old it's irrelevant. The idea was that a game designer has a particular kind of creative agenda in mind as they design the game. Playing with that kind of agenda or 'taste' in mind is easier, with that designer's system. Playing toward other agendas with that system feels like swimming upstream.
