Russia has issued a warning against a 'nightmare scenario' of armed conflict in Europe.
According to Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Europe is on the verge of resuming a military clash, and NATO is unwilling to listen to any Russian efforts to de-escalate tensions.
At the same time, Lavrov stated that Moscow wants to improve "strategic stability" on the continent, which he said is "rapidly disintegrating," while speaking in Stockholm, which is hosting an OSCE Ministerial Council conference."NATO refuses to consider our ideas for the de-escalation of tensions and the prevention of harmful occurrences," Lavrov said, accusing the US-led alliance of refusing to engage in productive dialogue.
The United States unveils its response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Lavrov's remarks came amid growing concerns over a rumored military buildup on Russia's border with Ukraine. Some Western media sites have alleged since the beginning of November that Moscow is planning an "invasion" of its neighbor, an assertion that the Kremlin has categorically refuted.
Last month, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg urged Russia to be more open about its military activities, describing the alleged force surge as "big" and "unprecedented.""He remarked, "We have to be clear-eyed and honest about the issues we confront." "We know that Russia has used these types of military assets in the past to carry out hostile operations against Ukraine."
