The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion’s Most CONTROVERSIAL Easter Egg (probably)
You know how YouTuber’s always say to people, leave a comment below? Well, I am glad I actually read mine because I NEVER would have found out what may be Oblivion’s most controversial unconfirmed easter egg was, if I didn’t.

To bring you up to speed,
It all started when I posted my Filling Every Grave video whereby I had to murder every citizen of New Sheoth, to fill its graveyard with punny tombstones.

However, little did I know, that one of the deceased had tenuous real life ties.

I was first clued in to the inside joke, when I read the comment about a certain Orinthal that read:

A former assassin named orinthal? Very clever Todd.

I am not ashamed to admit, I puzzled over this for a while - I had no idea what Orinthals significance was...
Then I read the Wiki which had repeatedly banned the somewhat spicy reference to a real life figure & so a quick Google search lead me to the GLORIOUS gem.

You see there is only one famous individual I could find at the top of the search results who coincidentally goes by the distinct name Orinthal, but with different spelling however, like many of you I always knew him simply as OJ simpson.

And the surreptitious similarities don’t stop there.

Orinthal, when introduced in game, will share some pretty tongue in cheek facts such as.

"Orinthal, retired Assassin. Now I live here. Only Redguard here, incidentally. An interesting fact, isn't it? I do enjoy facts."

Now, here’s two reasons why this line is clever:
He classed himself as a RETIRED Assassin. OJ simpson was dubiously acquitted of double murder in the 90’s and was free to retire thereafter Thanks to, a few facts that worked in his favour.
He states that he is the Only Redguard in New Sheoth. When the real Orinthal once spoke about his ethnicity his response was well, it caused such a stir itfamously made its way into a Jay Z song.

“I’m not black I’m OJ”

His obsession with facts may be a reference to OJ’s trial where he was grilled for months over details such as a trail of bloody footprints.

Or the infamous glove that didn’t fit.

Facts that later helped acquit the original juice, Hence why Orinthal obsesses over sometimes dark minutia:

“It takes an average”

Interestingly, Orinthal is one of the only citizens in the game to not have a quest attached to him. Instead following his schedule reveals he wanders around Bliss & can be mostly found loitering dangerously near Sontaire, New Sheoths Resident nymphomaniac. Probably keeping tabs on her many suitors.

Now, I can never prove this is legitimate no matter how many times fans try to edit a wiki page, Bethesda’s dark sense of humor in 2007 would never fly today… but once again, I want to thank the fans for all of the interesting facts you provide for me to obsess
