Looking at kronometer a simple stopwatch application which has just recently been added to KDE Neon repositories. It can be used for basic tasks like timer start/pause/resume, as well as lap times recording.
Looking at a report into the vulnerabilities of Linux and Open Source Software. Sadly many of the same mistakes are being made across different projects and different programming languages, particularly with Input Validation, Cross Site Scripting, and Information Exposure.

News that Cloudflare are providing a free DNS service that aggressively caches and provides a fast response time.
There are however concerns with Cloudflare providing data to Asian registry provider APNIC.
I've been using it for a couple of days and it seems fine.

Following the news about the insecure repositories in KDE Neon I have chosen to reinstall the Operating System, but I’m taking the lazy method:
sudo dpkg --get-selections > software.txt
sudo dpkg --set-selections < software.txt
sudo dselect update
sudo apt-get dselect-upgrade
I should have done sudo apt-get autoclean and apt-get autoremove before starting the job.

How to install Secure Shell (SSH) / Secure FTP (SFTP) Server in Ubuntu. I go through the recommended level of security settings to run an SSH server to be able to execute terminal commands or transfer files securely.
Instructions:
sudo apt-get install ssh
sudo nano /etc/ssh/sshd_config
ssh user@192.168.0.1 to connect to the SSH server from a Linux system
From Windows use PuTTY or WinSCP
IPTables firewall settings: http://blog.zioup.org//2008/iptables_recent/
Optional firewall for Ubuntu Desktop: GUFW
Optional firewall for Ubuntu Server: Webmin
Webmin is a great server config suite, but do not install it on an Ubuntu dekstop system because it will break the network settings.

Our thoughts so far with the experiment discussing Manjaro ARM KDE and Raspberry Pi OS Pixel.
Both have been a let down in terms of performance for Manjaro and Audio configuration for Raspberry Pi OS.
Miss Quids is trying Ubuntu MATE 20.04 next, which we have tried briefly, and been impressed with performance. Its the first OS that has made the Raspbery Pi 4 feel like a desktop replacement.

I’ve just started working on a Python Script to analyse web pages in order to identify tracking and advertising domains.
It’s early days and needs many more YARA rules to actually carry out the analysis.

The Amnesic Incognito Live System (Tails) is built for the privacy conscious to get you on Tor quick and easy with a 64 bit only Debian based Live Linux OS.
Tails is designed to run from a USB stick or DVD. You can make it persistent by copying your configured image to another USB stick, but it is not really designed to be installed permanently on to the hard drive.
