Well guys after the appetizer that was the Ultimate Fantastic Four issues, it's time to get to the main course with the first Marvel Zombies mini-series
Written by Zombie Expert himself Robert Kirkman, fresh off the start of the Walking Dead series, Kirkman took the concept of still sentient undead marvel characters and did something fresh with it...have THEM be the main focus of the series! Yeah instead of heroes fighting the zombies, we get the zombies trying to find food! And they get what they want (and more than they bargin for) when the Silver Surfer arrives, heralding the coming of Galactus! (Yeah this universe doesn't operate on a consistent timeline)
After devouring the surfer (not an easy feat) the zombies then have to deal with the devourer of worlds himself! Who's hunger is greater? Who will triumph? Well seeing as how there's so many more Marvel Zombies sequels I'll let you figure that out. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AR5WBqCV3Nc
On Today's Lesson of Pro Teaches n00bs, @adeadguy joins me as we dive into Superman Vs The Terminator. What sounds like a dumb idea (Superman should Smash them easily) results in something entertaining & fun. It should work but it does.
Superman: he can bend steel, leap tall buildings, and is faster than speeding bullets...but can he save the future?! The sentient computer known as Skynet has been sending Terminators into our present to find and destroy a boy named John Connor. Not just any boy, he will grow to lead a resistance force against a massive robot army that has brought mankind to the brink of extinction. Now the Terminators are hunting for young Connor in Metropolis. But Skynet didn`t plan on the Man of Steel coming to the rescue...or did it? As the battle to save mankind rages in the Metropolis of the present and the future, will the combined might of Superman, Supergirl, Superboy, and Steel be enough to stop the deadly killing machines -- and their new ally, the Cyborg-Superman -- from terminating John Connor? And will Lex Luthor lend a helping hand...or does he have something more sinister in mind for the Terminators? The ultimate battle for the future ends here -- and the results will shock you!

Bianca & I wrap up our Planet of the Apes Marathon (For now) with the Tim Burton "Re-imagining" of the franchise! It's...not the WORST of the movies but it's not that great. Amazing make up & action...but the story is confusing & inconsistent.
In 2029, an Air Force astronaut crash-lands on a mysterious planet where evolved, talking apes dominate a race of primitive humans.
It is the year 2029: Astronaut Leo Davidson boards a pod cruiser on a Space Station on a rescue and recovery mission. But an abrupt detour through a space time wormhole lands him on a strange planet where talking apes rule over the human race. With the help of a sympathetic chimpanzee activist named Ari and a small band of human rebels, Leo leads the effort to evade the advancing Gorilla Army led by General Thade and his most trusted warrior Attar. Now the race is on to reach a sacred temple within the planet's Forbidden Zone to discover the shocking secrets of mankind's past - and the key to its future.

Today will be part one of a two part video talking about key indie books that led into eventual crowdfunded creators first working together. Today's will be Timothy Lim and Mark Pellegrini first working together (I think) on Thump! A political satire about Trump's presidential race and the start of his presidency all told in a children's book format...with the orange man portrayed as a rabbit!
It's as ridiculous as it sounds! And because it's done in a children's book format this video isn't going to be that long (even if it is longer than most children's books) but I gotta say you can already see the type of creative energy these two have. The artwork is amazing (and a perfect foreshadowing for Black Hops) and the writing is very on point (Very much a precursor for Wall-Might!)
I don't have that much else to say here except buy a copy for yourself on Amazon! It's not that expensive. And tune in tomorrow as I talk about Chuck Dixon and Brett R Smith first working together on the graphic novel adaption of Clinton Cash!

Ingrid and I are back again with another Gamera Movie Marathon as we rewind now to the original 8 movies of what is known as the Showa Era. We'll be going over it's highs and it's incredibly painful lows. Now for the record, we will be going with the AiP dubs/re-edits of the movies when applicable. The Sandy Frank dubs were just too corny (but we know at least one movie we'll have no choice but to use that one).
We continue out Marathon with the second and, what some may consider the best of the Showa Era Gamera films. A sentiment Ingrid and I can somewhat agree to...but after seeing the next film we kinda put them both on an equal "They're the best for their own different reasons" level. But I, as a longtime Godzilla fan, can definitely say that this movie definitely fits alongside the original Big G's Showa Line up.
Now this movie has many departures from the original. For starters, this is the only Showa Gamera movie not directed by Noriaki Yuasa but instead by Shigeo Tanaka (Yuasa would still direct the special effects). Second, there are no kid characters at all in this movie! Third, Gamera is barely in this movie. And lastly, the human plot is more mature (by comparison) and darker than the other Gamera movies in this era.
Six months after the events of Gamera, the Giant Monster, a meteorite collides with the Z Plan rocket and frees Gamera, who returns to Earth.
We are then focused on Keisuke, a young man who was sent by his brother to find what was believed to be a huge chunk of Opal. Along the way he has two friends, one of which is named Onodera (or as Ingrid and I call, the Bastard)
Onodera would kill the other friend, try to kill Keisuke, kill Keisuke's brother (and his wife), and nearly ruin the plan to stop the monster later on. Seriously this guy was someone Ingrid and I kept Rooting to see get his comeuppance.
The "Opal" turns out to be an Egg that hatches into the monster Barugon, a reptilian monster that can fire disintegrating rainbows from it's back and freeze things with its extending tongue!
Ingrid and I loved this movie and felt it the characters were very well handled and the story was very good too. The only fault would be the lack of monster action. Fortunately that will be cleared up next time
Will Gamera be able to defeat Barugon? Will Onodera get his karmic death? Well check out what Ingrid and I think.
