Kerbal Space Program - RATOL - Rocket Assisted Take Off & Landing - Operation Credible Sport
How do you make a C130 Hercules Cargo plane land and take off within the length of a football field? With rockets of course! In an entry into Real World Kerbal Aviation Program we outfit a Husky cargo plane from the Ferram Aerospace Research pack with 4 groups of SRB's that let it land on very short sections of runway. Or, more often, crash it into the ground after stalling.
Rocket watchers knew the Falcon 9 launch carrying Iridium 4 was going to be spectacular because the launch window was just after sunset. However it caught much of the general public by surprise and caused a bit of a sensation on social media. Let's talk about the science explaining the shape and behaviour of the launch using Doug Ellison's fantastic footage:

Light everything in this indie puzzle platformer, I bought the game in a humble bundle and I'd played a couple of levels but decided to give it a serious go on video, unedited.
(I know it's an hour long, but it still takes less time than my typical KSP videos)

In April of 1975 the Soviet Union launched a Soyuz carrying cosmonauts Vasily Lazarev and Oleg Makarov on what was supposed to be Soyuz 18, a 2 month mission to the Salyut 4 space station. Instead it turning into a record breaking unintenionally suborbital spaceflight which returned to the atmosphere minutes later after going higher, faster and further than any other suborbital spaceflight.
The crew ended up experiencing over 20g's during reentry and landed on the side of a mountain, with the parachutes snagging on trees and saving them from rolling downhill to certain death.

We've set foot on Kerbin, now lets head to one of it's moons. Unfortunately we have a slight technical malfunction and the return takes some hard flying.

We knew it was possible, but making it work required some more practice with the EVA control systems. Leaving the ship in orbit, Jebediah Kerman once more lands on Minmus and then one orbit later he relaunches and rendezvous with the capsule in orbit, finally winning his bet with Bob Kerman.

No matter how accurate your optics are there's a physical limit to how accurate an image can be made. To get finer details you need a larger aperture, at the ultimate limit there are ways to combine telescopes around the world to get resolution like it was a single large telescope the size of a planet.
