A walk along York St Sydney: Historical electronic and radio buildings
A brief visit to Sydney allowed time to walk along York St, possibly the most historically significant street in Sydney for the radio enthusiast.

It was our version of the larger 'Radio Rows' in other cities, and a centre of radio and electronics commerce. Shops sold components, stereo, CB, amateur and more equipment.

Remnants included one hi-fi store and a Jaycar selling components. The AWA art deco building is beautifully preserved.

Later that day a trip was made to 109 Wigram St, Paramatta, previously known as 'Amateur Radio House'. This was the headquarters of the WIA (VK2 Division) for nearly 20 years until activities were consolidated at its Dural site.
