Curses & Crushing the Head of Serpents | Genesis 3:14-15
Why did Jesus step on a snake’s head in The Passion of the Christ movie? That wasn’t in the Bible! Oh, but it was. 4,000 years prior, God put a curse on Satan with a promise that Jesus would crush his head.

On this #CrackYourBible episode, we’re chatting about the curse God put on the serpent, Satan, for convincing Eve (and thus Adam) to eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.
While in the Passion of the Christ, Jesus literally crushed a snake’s head with his foot, this was simply the movie’s way of providing a visual reminder of the curse that God put on Satan around 4,000 years earlier in the Garden of Eden. With Jesus, God crushed the head of Satan which led the way for our reconciliation to God, that had been severed when Adam sinned.
